Nice 15 pounder from Laguna

    No fish taken, but I found a scuba diver weight pouch with 3 mesh bags inside. A total of 15lbs of lead. Made for a real challenge bring that back to shore, considering I already had on 17lbs of lead. But I always love coming across stuff like this in the ocean. It's like finding buried treasure at sea~




    Conditions Report: Crescent Bay this morning. Surge was pretty extreme and the vis ranged from 8-15ft. Yellow flag with a long period of calm waves and then a few big sets to watch out for. Still felt very dive-able out there. Biggest legal fish I saw was a 5-6lb sand bass. Didn't see to many legal fish. Probably because of the surge and vis.

    I know! Sport Chalet charges $5 a pound for their lead weight pouches. So that equates to $75 worth of lead right there!

    I don't have a dive watch, but I wouldn't doubt Laguna Seasports report. Said it was 56 degrees out there today.


    I was getting cold by the end of the dive an hour or two in.

    56??? Must be water gremlins messing with the thermostat lately or something...


    Sounds about right on the lead too, I paid about $20 each for my buckshot style 5lb'ers when they were on sale, come bug season you can probably sell them in no time :)

    I'll probably keep the weights. I could use them with my scuba gear.

    and you can easily sell the lead shot bags now...... I put some up on craigs list a few weeks ago and got 10 or 12 replies.... sold all quickly.

    Those bubble butts were on my spot last week off a boat. the vis sucked.
