Well short story about myself, central Texas born and raised father of two. I grew up tournament fishing for bass and was recently given a spear pole with paralyzer tip and technisub ranger spear gun. Being from Texas as you can probably guess it gets very hot so you could always find me in the water some where now you can find me with a spear pole in hand! Ive had really good success with the pole but I don't think I'm using the right tip. My main fish of choice are tilapia the rivers near my home are loaded with them and some good size ones to, I'm afraid the paralyzer isn't enough I'm hitting the fish good Ive just had to many shake off and am afraid to go after some of the larger ones because of this that and I don't want to just injure the fish. Also I'm thinking my band isn't heavy enough I had to replace it and I put some latex tubing from lowes on it. Most of the dive shops around here are real limited to what they carry and as far as I know not many people spearfishing either. Any advise is great even maybe suggestions on new poles and tips and where to shop.
