  • Thanks, no all I've done with Euros is break them. That is excepting the One 105 I have.
I did dick around with doing some mods but by the time I loaded them up, the warm and fuzzy feeling about the trigger sear was long gone. I really like the One series and my Cubano amigos rave about the RA's.

It seems similar in direction these days where the parts if not the whole thing is from China and moreso on longevity than principle I pass. Shame. I was looking for Riffe to not succumb to the nickel over the penny, but their suits and gear is now made over there. Excepting the Elites by Allesando Picasso I don't know a suit not made in China and now they claim to be making decent carbon fins. Pass.

  • Thanks for the correction, Dan.
I was just over on the wetsuit thread and really like the looks of the suit! Harold is a local didver and tough on his gear too. I've nver been a fan of the lycra, but but I'm not hardheaded enough to have my opinions changed. That green camo looks particularly appealing. Being 6-3 and 215 I'm guessing I'm a XXL. I'm a 58 with a stretch in the Picasso and you can have my Omer's, excepting the one piece 1.5 mil steamer.
Are all the Pursuit trouser style, ie, no farmer johns?

    Thanks.

  • All Pursuit pants are trouser style. The pants don't ride down. I don't feel the addition of the suspenders adds any thermal protection. Without suspenders it's possible to take off the pants without taking off the jacket when necessary.

Your size would be an XXL.

I don't consider smooth cell to be suitable for our purposes. I don't know of options other than Lycra or Nylon for outside lining. Do you have a preference for Nylon then? If so why?

  • For over and up here a Farmer john just adds some thermal protection. There are guys that do fine with regular trousers and there's no denying that trousers allow a better breath-up.

By my own admission, I learned with no nylon and then with nylon when it came along. My expereience with Lycra has been limited to the 1st and second run of Yazbecks. I found them to be noisy- the material sqeaked when my arms or legs would rub together or brush up against a kelp stalk. I can honestly say that I've spooked fish including one WSB that was bigger than me. Then too one look at a rock and the material would fuzz up and then keep catching on every little nub thereafter. My nylon Picasso's would just tough it out, especially the 9 mil Commercials.

But there's no denying the felxibility! So like converting to the next greatest and latest, I'm OK with Lycra but I'll do it kicking and screaming and because it's all that's out there. ;)

I really like that green camo. I could see laying out on a ledge waiting for a Pargo to get curious and having a field day.

And if you want to put this over in the wetsuit section so this doesn't derail the gun thread, good by me.

  • Baja, Pursuit wetsuits are not made in China.

Gamble, that's an interesting story behind your gun, makes it all the more meaningful.

    Thanks Dan,

The gun does have a lot of meaning to me, and it's a killing machine!!!:D

Also, I'm really looking forward to featuring Pursuit spearfishing equipment in the upcoming issues of Spearing Magazine. You have received a lot of very positive comments form some highly respected spearfishermen and I can't wait to try them out for myself!!

  • Thanks Jeromy.

Baja, it seems your preference is for Nylon, that's cool. The noise issue is new to me, I haven't experienced it with the Pursuit wetsuits, and I dive without a hood. hau, one of our members, dives more than any other person I know, he dives with a kayak so there's lots of rubbing and scraping getting in and out of it. He's had a Pursuit wetsuit for 1.5 years now, I saw it a few months ago and it was like new. I think he likes it and treats it well, so it lasts. I don't know what more I could add, other than that I can offer a 9mm suit :)

    Sorry for the derail.

  • No necessario on the 9 mil. If I ever need to strap one of those on it's because I'm on helium and I'm done with that too.
I'm looking forward to getting some ducats together before year's end to pick up that green XXL for the yearly sojourn So of the border for the jurels!

  • Howzit guys/gals? I hope Im not intruding by making a post here. I was referred to the forum by Tin Man and figured this would be a perfect place to start. This is a small collection of guns I have built recently some of which feature tinmans AR-15 handle and another featuring a custom muzzle made by Tin Man.

  • Great looking guns, do you take any requests?

Thank you for all the compliments, I would love to take requests but at the time being I am not taking any orders as I leave for New Zealand next Friday. My wife and I are heading down to spend 6 months in New Zealand traveling around in a van and taking in as much of the country as we can...And YES I am taking all my gear with me... I have been talking to a lot of NZ spearos and trying to get a feel for what would be the best package. Ive decided on a 120 euro (which Ive been told will take down just about anything that would swim my way) a 100cm for the shallow water snooping, and a 9ft O'hara pole spear to test my patience.

When I get back in March, if I havn't found a nich to fill in New Zealand, I plan on revamping my shop and making it more suitable for building guns.... basically I just need more space. So if anyone is in the market for a gun at that time I would be happy to oblidge:):toast:
