Off hand position

  • Don,
Any truth to the rumor that strumming the bands creates a sound that arouses the curiosity in fish and prompts them to come investigate?

A few guys do it, I think it works on some fish like Yellow tail and Jacks and it will put a few Tahitian sharks
like the Grey Reef and Silver tip right in your face some times over there. I don't do it too much, maybe some others guys can comment.

    Cheers, Don

  • You want to see a Bull shark come outta nowhere, strum your bands.

I can't say that strumming bands has ever produced a WSB for me, though I'm pretty sure it's scared them away. I've managed to call a few in by croaking but I'm more inclined to think they were there already and I just didn't notice them.

If you have to do anything to bring in a fish, excepting a WSB or a YT, throw up some sand and leave the bands and your vocal chords alone.
