Begginer alert. 47 year old Surfer and occasional diver that finally found the midlife crisis I've been looking for.
Just bought a offshore boat and I'm anxious to learn how to spearfish. I love the ocean and all the sealife around me in the water. I can't wait to spear my first Cobia, and share it with friends. I will learn some freediving, and buy gear immediately.
This seems like such a diverse community with a common love. I hope to repay the wisdom I seek from you someday, but today I have only questions. This may not be the right thread to ask, but please forgive me...
I would appreciate a list of your 3 favorite books on spearfishing and or freediving.
Cheers!
Trey

Welcome to the forum.
You're fortunate because at this time there's a lot of information available whereas when most of us were starting there was barely any. For a bigger emphasis on educational rather than entertainment value I recommend Terry Maas book BlueWater hunting and freediving http://www.amazon.com/BlueWate…cover-acc86/dp/B000GXGGBS even though I can't remember it covering much bottom hunting.
Also the Spearo's guide DVD http://www.freedivingspearfish…e-spearo-s-guide-dvd.html
