Speardiver vs Beuchat weight vest

  • I ask for a comparison on the two because I'm considering switching to a vest system, and these are the two that are most starkly different, at least as far as I can tell. The shoulder straps: Beuchats are wider, and fit more on the chest, so maybe the support is more spread out and less on the shoulders. The ball system for fitting under the weight belt: Beuchat has two balls on the sides (optional 3rd in the back), as opposed to one on the back.

Some stuff that might only come from first hand experence: maybe the vest is another place for air bubbles to become trapped and spook WSB at inappropriate moments?

    Thanks

  • Alex, I used to use the old back wt and straps but never wore the Beuchat vest.
I could always feel the center wt between my shoulders with my 5mil. I now have the Speardiver weight vest with the thin straps and just forget it is even there. I have to remember to take it off before peeling of my top at the end of the day. I really like the ability to trim my stance in the water along with moving a little wt of my lower back. The quality is as good as Dan's wetsuits.

  • Thanks DP. Any insight on the air bubble issue?
