RIP Eric

RIP bro, another victim if shallow water blackout I bet. That sounds exactly how Steve Redding passed away cutting a yt out at Clemente :(. If you've got a hot big fish down deep you should always have a spotter because you are so amped from the fight, there's times when even hitting 30' when I'm hyped up is hard.

RIP, prayers go out to his family and friends

Thank you Mullins for bringing him back to his family. This could happen to me as well. Eric was a top spero.
I plan on having him join the other angles that talk to me, even when I personally believe I can pull on a hot fish at or near the surface. So so sad to lose any one of us. Please just take a second guys and think how painful this is for family and friends including the risk to those that will try to save you at all costs. Attempt diving within our limits, and call over a skilled spotter as soon as possible.....if you get the chance.Sincerely, Don

Tragic Last Dive Of Eric De Vries | Stuff.co.nz
Dave said that Eric was wearing a D3 so the dive profile will help determine what happened.
Eric was well known amongst divers in NZ. Sad story. I am glad that Dave was able to bring him up .Its just unfortunate that it was too late -
Thanks Carla.
