Aloha from Oahu

  • Hi,

I'm a freedive spearfisher from Oahu Hawaii and like many of you I dive or go fishing every chance I get. I started diving and fishing with my father when I was 6 years old and 44 years later (yeah, I'm old) I still look forward to going out. I don't really know what else to say except that I enjoy reading the info in this forum and hopefully I'll be able to contribute something someday.

If anyone writes to me and I don't respond right away it's not that I'm ignoring you but just that I'm usually so busy with work that I spend what little free time I have going out with my family or doing something at the beach, leaving me very little computer play time at home.

  • Aloaha uluabuster, great to have you on board...family first is a good thing....we will be here on your rainy days when the sea is not diveable.

  • Howzit Chris, I live on the leeward side also in the Waikele area. I dive on the leeward side (Ewa Beach to Kaena) most of the time but right now the surf is HUGE.

Howzit Don, thanks. I guess you have kids too. Busy, sometimes difficult but I can't complain since I was a real pain when I was young.

  • Cool, I just joined the site too and I'm sitting in Oakland airport waiting for my flight to Honolulu. Of course I'm bringing my gear. I'm there for 2 weeks. One week work one week play. If you or any others want a dive buddy I'd be stoked to go out with some locals. And of course will reciprocate if you make it to the Bay Area.
    Thanks
    Dan
