new from southbay, CA

Hey there everyone! My name is melvin and I'm new to the spearfishing world. I am from southern california and i just got introdiuced to spearfishing from a buddy of mine and I got hooked from the first dive. I look forward to learning and reading about all your experiences. Any tips for a newbie would be appreciated. Thank you all. God bless and be safe.

Thanks to you all! Any advice you guys would give a beginner? I currently got myself a jbl 6ft' pole spear with a flopper tip. Maybe someday I'll get a gun....but I love my spear so far. =)
