No murder in my vocabulary;) The WSB will be safe at home this winter by the time I Christen her.I have now started to think X-Mas boat parade and a small bow tree.
I don't even have a rig to tow it with yet. (I'm going to change my Avey so I can remember what a Yellowtail looks like.)![]()
The tunes will be nice when I'm chillin, love listening to opera on a hard crossing, or a little Eminem on the way back to the harbor.
Cheers. Don
Shoot to thrill!

Aye ...was a good evening..
Gave the console a bath, jury rigged the sound system and cranked up one of my favorite songs as I sat in front of the helm with a thick glass of Bushmills .I'll share it with ya.![]()

Words....
My love said to me
My Mother won't mind
And me Father won't slight you
For you lack of kind
Then she stepped away from me
And this she did say
It will not be long love
Till our wedding day
She stepped away from me
And she moved through the Fair
And fondly I watched her
Move here and move there
And she went her way homeward
With one star awake
As the swans in the evening
Move over the lake
No two e'er were wed
But one has a sorrow
That never was said
And she smiled as she passed me
With her goods and her gear
And that was the last
That I saw of my dear
I dreamed last night
My dead love came in.
So softly she entered
Her feet made no din
She came close beside me
And this she did say
It will not be long love
Till our wedding day
Song was first collected in 1909 by Padraic Colum from the Donegal region of Ireland.

Today I removed the ''trial fitted'' speakers and made some gaskets from doubled over Rescue Tape before refitting.
Here is a trick to get the speaker polarity spot on, I know a lot of you pimp my ride guys know this already;)
Sometimes a speaker is not marked + or - on the terminal or both terminals are the same size (the wider one is usually +). A quick and dirty way to check polarity is to use a 1.5 or 9 volt battery. The polarity will be correct if the speaker cone moves forward when connected briefly to posts. If the cone travels inward the wires are reversed.
Cut off the old ratty ignition switch and shortened the harness by 5 feet,( not into having zip tied coils of ''extra'' wire inside the console).Ive seen some real short cuts on a few boats over the years.:(
Because this is a ''wet'' boat I use high quality marine grade wire and terminals tinted and soldered, later to be coated with silicon core heat shrink and coated with liquid tape over the switch post screws.
As the sun set I fired up the Mercury from the console for the first time with the tunes in the background. Still lots to do... radar, GPS, sonar, bilge pump and lighting. I know I'm missing some epic diving off shore and should just pay someone to take me out before the water turns cold.

Wired in the kill switch, and fitted it into the housing and tested running/killing the motor before the end of summer back yard bash. Now I'm too much in the party mode to do any more work.

Spent the night doing more console and personal flotation device research .My girl hates wearing a life preserver....maybe she could get these.;)
Will up date this week end.

Motor wiring loom, kill switch and Ing switch sealed with heat shrink.Boot will be sealed with 5200. Winter basebal has started for Dillon so things have slowed down, back at it in the AM.
Cheers, Don
Thanks for the updates. Do you use the adhesive lined heat shrink or just the normal electrician stuff?

Yes Mil Spec silicone lined stuff, all the switch posts are then sealed with what ever state of the art clear acrylic nail polish I can ''procure'' from the chicks drawer. <img src= " height="23" srcset="https://spearfishing.world/forum/images/smilies/emojione/1f606@2x.png 2x">
I used to use Liquid Tape for this, but it makes the terminals hard to see at night should a '' Macgyver '' be called for if a switch fails at sea.
On another note...will be getting my Nerd on today looking for a connector for my two Hitachi extra storage drives. If you guys don't hear from me tonight you why.![]()
