Hi!
I have purchased C4 Urukay few days ago. It looks very solid and nice. The only concern I have is a hole on top part of it, right near a spear placement. What is this for?

I have a C4 Urukay 120 cm which I purchased earlier this year, but it has no such hole. I have been told that hole was for inserting a short pin that could be used as a rest tab to draw the wishbone to before the final pull back to the shaft tab or wishbone slot at the rear end of the spear. A pin should have been included with the gun.
Interesting idea. But couldn't it potentially rip into the bands as they contract, or snag the shooting line? Unless the pin is meant to be removed after loading. Also without having some rake/angle to it I can't see a straight pin holding the band wishbone in a secure way even temporarily.

Yes, the pin is removed after cocking of the bands is completed, plus I imagine that it would soon be lost if you dropped it.
I have a 132cm graphite that had the hole . Pete is spot on about the pin, I epoxoed the hole shut as I never found it hard to load.

Hi,
new to the forum, I just purchased a second hand C4 Urukay 120, which is an impressive 120 speargun!
Does anyone know what this "rest tab pin" looks like? If you have a pic, so that I could get an idea about how manufacturing a new one...?
thanks!
I will shoot one tonight mate.
Cheers, Don
That's very nice of you, thanks!!
That was a misunderstanting between us!
The hole is present on my Urukay, I would like to see how looks the pin that is meant to be put in!
Anyway, thanks!

The pin is SS 6 x 35mm.
ok! thanks. so it's only a simple SS cylinder, with no particular shape?
Yes.
Cheers, Don
You probably need to make a few of them if you plan to use it as pins are easily dropped and impossible to find.
thinking about holding the pin by a small line going under the gun... no real plan at the moment...
The best would be a retractable pin, with a spring system..!! Hardly feasable!!
I would just start cocking the gun over and over until you don't need the pin or put a cheat tab on the shaft. Your going to be looking down at that pin when a big tuna swims by.
Cheers, Don
Sure, I will first do it this way. I think I will need an intermediate tab, especially with the new Riffe spear I put on the gun, which tabs are something like 6/7cms more on the rear the former spear! Anyway, I will have more tuning to do, as I want to make three new rubber bands.
