I have a RE 90 and it's incredible, but I couldn't get the hang of this 120. I could have played with a lot of things, but I already had a RA 110, so it was kinda redundant. I know that the RE120 holds its value well, so I eBayed it for just about what I bought it for. I would have kept it had I not just bought a boat/money pit!

I know lots of people that have used that gun and gotten terrific accuracy. I don't want to spoil your choice. It is definitely well made.

I just mailed off to an eBay buyer my Riffe Euro 120. I actually love the handle, but I have really fine and beautiful hands. I couldn't hit shit with it as well, even while doing target practice. I switched to an RA (with a plastic trigger :thumbdown1:) and it shoots exactly where I point.

I was on that trip, but it wasn't my RA that discharged. My next gun purchase will have all stainless trigger mech components. I have another strike against RA; a 6.5 mm euro shaft will discharge if you twist the shaft. The shaft will rotate from being locked in by the sear. The 7mm shafts are wide enough to prevent the rotation. I think I will actually get some pictures....tomorrow.

Now I know what you guys were talking about when you saw that float on my boat!!!! I thought you guys were just joking around. That's ridiculous, I'm sorry.

I saw the Pelaj guys pitching their guns into Austins Dive Shop, I didn't like the handle, but they are interchangeable for a thinner one. The guns looked nice and felt solid, but I only got a cursory look.

They have to be careful entering a pretty crowded market. Spearguns are relatively simple, so it's pretty hard to provide any real innovation that someone hasn't thought of and sold before. In my mind, the only way to get an edge or charge higher in the railgun market is to provide bulletproof quality...or warranty.

Maybe he can hear the fish! Oh, I forgot to mention that it was so flat yesterday that it was louder under the water than on the surface. No sounds of waves. Near silence. That was pretty neat. I rarely dive in those conditions.

It was really great to dive with these guys. Hopefully there will be another window of flat seas after Ike! Maybe Davie won't be the only "Fish Whisperer".

Freek is alluding to this thread http://spearfishing.world/showthread.php?t=57 :DWere you using a depth finder? If not I'm sure there's lots to be found still.

I scanned the thread above, thought I'd write here, just so people aren't like, "who the hell is this guy?".

The problem is: there is no right or wrong. This kinda falls under "etiquette". In my book, whoever spears the fish has "rights" to it. With that said, if I was Diver A - I'd offer the fish for sure.

I'll put it this way: Boat owner maintains the boat, provides labor, invites you on a trip. Boat owner drops you on his "secret" spot, while he takes the first turn driving the boat for drift diving. You shoot a nice Mutton and some Mangroves. Time for the next spot, but the boat has engine trouble, so you head in. Boat owner has to make repairs on his boat, etc...

My point is, even though someone else did most of the work for the shooter to get a fish; he or she is not "entitled" to the fish. Now, etiquette/being a good friend says give the boat owner a fish or two, gas money, beer, etc, but that's at the discretion of the shooter.

I was just making an analogy and trying to give my opinion clearly. As always there are lots of subtleties that make it complicated. My $0.02.

I look forward to diving....weather permitting. My major is in Ocean Engineering. The class is actually on how to interpret/analyze data. Apparently the chances that I'll pay attention are approaching zero!

FREEK: always talking about other divers' shafts!:laughing4:

Didn't Tanya Streeter have the all out "no limits" sled record for a while?

I agree with Toledo, there is a higher likelihood that a man will hold the record, purely based on the statistics, but I bet there's a lot of physiological differences that will have a huge impact.

Coincidences seem to happen in bunches:

So I happened to post on Spearboard that I wanted to sell a Riffe Top, FREEK tells me that Seahunter49 wants it, but can't post there himself....:atongue:

So I give him a call, turns out he lives within walking distance from me, he bought the Riffe Top and we chatted for a while about spearing. Nice little Tuesday morning.

Dan, as you asked, here's my boat. We'll go out when the vis opens up:

I had to rush off to go to class (I'm a Graduate Student at FAU), and I come to find out that Davie (Seaweed) is in my class (Probabalistic Data Analysis, if you were curious). I had only met him briefly some months ago when I bought a gun on behalf of a buddy from him. We spend the next hour and a half bored to tears. Haha.

It's just nice to meet good people and I thought I'd share.
