that is a cute ass little dolphin. thanks for sharing that.

I wonder if he is treated differently within his pod? they mention all of the adaptations and weaknesses that he has, but I always thought of pods as looking out for one another, how does this play in?

hell yeah it would..with a few clips around the edge so you could scope out the floatline you wanted and then be secure at that length..I say it is an awesome idea...the round shape on the float would add tdrag over say a torpedo or longer float, but that is manageable

You will love your new gun. I love the wooden extension in the back third to hip load. I would really like to go with you and get a beer and talk about spearfishing afterwards ... Ill be ther with you somehow, i`m stoked for you. Nothing like getting a new speargun :thumbsup2:

hahaha, he didn't do it...the rob Allen reigns supreme in the Hau quiver...

i would love to sit and chat spearo with you whenever you find the time to venture to miami :)

i heard a guy who owns a fish market talk about chill killing. I thinkl this method should be added too the discussion. the idea is that you use the cold to keep the fish super fresh as it is also killing it. the would or addition cuts you make are fine, but he stressed that ice and sea water make for the best tasting fish cos it keeps better.

i wonder if it is critical that they die in the ice or just that they get there fast.

got it rigged up and tricked out yesterday at austin's :)

    new RA shaft- 160cm
    new ra band - 20mm x 33"
very clean mono shooting line (might replace it with dyneema just for better vis)

I'll throw up some pics tonight after work. It is a beautiful gun and I am pumped to try it out this weekend.

there is a vein on most fish that is visible and runs directly behind the pectoral flipper/fin. when I have brained a fish I will often make a cut there and use the few remaining hertbeats to fully bleed the fish through there. I find that doing so and putting the fish in a mix of ice and seawater makes for some delicious fishes

all i know is there is a guy who was on that stupid show "the ultimate warrior" or something like that, the show where the little guy and the big guy go and learn different styles and then fight all over the world...at any rate this guy was a master who trained on top of the Great Wall and used to train with a blind fold on...he was the most incrediible fighter I have ever seen, he was sparing with his student, while blindfolded and with a casual blow he made the student puke..it was incredible

hau- we were talking about launching out of matheson hammock at like 630 i believe...I am going to call Jorge in a few moments to confirm all the details but we were looking at the elliot key area

i know the pole spear is way faster, the reload time is about 2-3 seconds for a beginner

as far as accuracy, it will be a less than 5 foot shot so you really shouldnt miss.

the spear will prolly have more impact power as it is longer and heavier...let's try both and see

i was going to go out with marine jorge tomorrow and there might be room for one more in his boat, hopefully he chimes in

I am hoping the weather allows for yaks on sunday
