Cool Ill keep that in mind. For right now I added some 5200 to the flag mount to hopefully seal it up good. I havent used it too much lately since I take my kayak to the beach most of the time now.

stupid triggers. That spot i took him to was loaded with them. I got bit by one thursday on my chest... THAT hurt.

Nice vid, you left me and my beastmode cero out :(

The canned spray foam will not work well, too low a density. You can get the proper stuff at a boat building supplier.
What fish are you hunting? How deep the float goes determines the foam density.

    Cheers, Don

Its mainly our beach diving float for when I swim out from the beach, I dont have a reel rigged on any of my guns so its got a 50 ft floatline right to the gun handle. I doubt it will be ever going very deep or getting tombstoned since Im only hunting fish in 25-40 feet of water most of the time.

edit - dan, thanks for that link. You got the DIY stuff down pretty damn good sir:thumbsup2:

One of the floats me and nate have sitting around in our place is one of my old lifeguard rescue cans from my lifeguarding days. I drilled it out and permanently mounted a flag and sealed it with AB pool compound putty but it still leaks a bit.

What are the chances of being able to buy a can or something of expanding foam to fill this thing up with and not have to deal with it leaking anymore? I know it will make the float heavier but will it make it more or less buoyant?

Okay. I was afraid you had scuba fins.

absolutely not. I only use my scuba fins for school dives and for cleaning boat hulls... other then that i refuse to wear em.

Before i go any deeper i plan on taking a class... Im very well versed in the physiology with SCUBA diving but my class this past semester on SCUBA and freediving physiology and theory dove into freediving stuff that made me want to take the class and do it right so I dont hurt myself.

Freedove yesterday out of haulover, north of the inlet. We turned left soon as we left as it looked like crap south. ran north to find beautiful top to bottom viz with no current. Hit a few patch reefs. I pulled one nice boar hog, and a trigger and an almaco jack. consistently was hitting 40 feet with good breathholds.

Guns are all used, good condition unless otherwise noted. I only have a box to ship one gun, or all 3 at once. I take paypal or cash, pickup in North miami. Shipping is extra.

Dove meade st 1st reef today quick dive. Got a hog and a red, whiffed on what couldve been two nice muttons in one shot. dive buddy pulled 3 bugs, alot of bugs in the boulders but mostly small. one was a 3 pounder out in the open.

conditions went from good to lookin like a storms a brewin...

Water is a bit rough today, kind of kicked our asses. North of the port, vis 20ft in 15-20fsw, swell 3-4' with the occasional 5-6, very slight northbound current. A mutton, mangrove, hog, and a porgy.

Genius freaking idea to dive before you leave town lemme tell ya.... :frustrated2::blowup::troll1::angry4::attack2::attack3::reddevil:

Fun diving til it was time to come back in. I lost my flag, nate lost his paddle. my paddle got stuck all the way in the back of my kayak inside the hatch. got one half out, threw a temper tantrum and smashed it in half over my bow hatch.... back into the water to swim in.

You mean less than $5 for the line only, right? Surely that amount doesn't include cost of the end clips and swivels. Does it?

Line only. but i found a deal on longline clips WITH swivels at basspro, 2 for less then 5 dollars. can make a float line for 10 bucks.
