Looks good! I would suggest some more rounding on the band slot, but what do I know
-
that puzzles me too!!! what's the point?
Another one is long wishbones.... 4 or 5" long.... the waste is equivalent in both... having the pins/fins further back but then long wishbones is just the same as pins/fins not at the back (and shorter wishbones) -
I think that open cell socks have lining on the sole... other wise, it would be hard to walk safely.
I know that because I replace some soles with the neoprene used in forza tre suits (polosub) to test it's durability and to repair the socks. The test went well as the neoprene proved to be very resilient with all my weight on and on rough ground (so it would be great - as it is - in a wetsuit) but I had some "I don't don't how to ice skate but I'm going to try it" alike moments -
I just read, and it seems to make sense, that its smart to return the snorkel to the mouth and clear it when about to break the surface so you can breath should u begin to sooommmbbaa.
A good diver I know from Hawaii just posted that the technique apparently saved his life a few days ago
In my opinion, the snorkel should only return to the mouth after some breaths at surface.
if you samba or black out with a snorkel you'll have a (very) open way to inhale water. -
~~~ Also, if I may suggest, I clear my snorkel when I'm several feet below the surface, I continue to exhale a small steady stream of air which completely purge all water from the tube,and I break the surface with a clear snorkel.
Bye the way does any one know where I can buy a snorkel that is elliptical in shape? I saw an advertisement some where, and now I can't remember.
Thanks, Kerry.For better performance (equalizing being one aspect) and safety the snorkel should be out of the mouth during the dive! One should exhale very near the surface and the first thing that one does when the mounth is out of the water is breath
Also , for some species, the bubbles that come out of the snorkel (when diving with it in the mouth) make the fish skittish
SOLD
Hi guys,
I'm selling my C4 Urukay 105 speargun.The gun is used but in very good condition as it has been used with great care. There some minor scratches from normal use (mainly in the "C4" stickers). Please take a look at the pictures.
The handle has a thumb rest made with shapelock and covered with bike inner tube but there's nothing "glued" to the carbon and I'll send a new original handle or I can replace it before sending. There's also some inner tube on the back of the gun to make it easier to load and also to protect the carbon when placing it on the floor (vertically). It's also just wrapped and easily taken off (which i can also do). The head has some additional black spacers for perfect align of 3 bands but those can be taken off too.I'm assuming that those interested already know the unique characteristics of the gun but let me know if you have questions.
I'm selling it because I have 2 Urukay and 0 Graphite… and to get a graphite, unfortunately, this one has to go.
Price is 550 € (around $716) + shipping fro the gun "naked" (as in the pictures but without the dyneema. Reel is included)
Payment trough Paypal -
Okay. I have decided to go with the ultra low profile option first. I figure that if it is uncomfortable or impractical, I can easily remove everything but the strip of neoprene and that will only be a minor porqueria.
So I heated and fused a pen , thanks xan! And will be using that to protect the wetsuit. Here are the materials
And how it will look on the sleeve.
I am going to stuff my suit sleeve with foam noodles to simulate it being on and to give some support while gluing up.
Why not flare (open wider horizontally like a funnel) the pen so it would be easier to insert the "needle"? -
From what I understood, 20 ft was the total length of the spear trajectory (Is this right?). That's very different from the spearfishing range, in both energy and direction...
hey guys , i tested the gun today with the shorter bands and i would say the 2 bands are enough but i am going to leave the third band in the gun just for the hell of it . on some separate news i just came back for the hospital . i was finished testing the gun and went back out to practice snorkeling . i then tried to dive but i could not because i was not wearing weights , so i tried using my hands to cup the water to pull my self down . when i put all my strength into it i dislocated my right shoulder , which hurt like hell . thankfully i was close to the shore was able to get out . i had to endure the pain for about 1 hr to get to the hospital . the bone spec dr popped it back into place while i was on some awesome pain killers so i don't remember him doing it . i woke up with everyone laughing because while i was high i was saying some weird stuff . the doctor said it was a combination of fatigue and weak muscles . he said that i would be fine but in two weeks i have to do some physical therapy to strengthen the muscles so it would not happen again . he did say though that it is a common problem with new swimmers . i did not think that my my injury from learning spearfishing would be some snorkeling .
Glad to know that you're ok! Better that then something worse...
Someone should have recorded it so you could post it here like this:
If I carried a stringer that would be ideal. In my waters I cannot have fish hanging off my waist
I don't have it on my waist, it's in the board. Since I'll put the fish in the board anyway, and it's never far from me, I just head to the board when I spear a fish... If it's too far, knife it is
