I'm Indian, and my folks LOVE small, bony fishes. They primarily eat sardines, common mackerel, and they also like beltfish.
In fact, they prefer their favored bait fish to some of the fish I bring home from a shore dive!:confused1:

Would be interesting to have a thread describing all the fish local populations consider valuable that others would consider junk.I second that. This would be interesting.

Dude, that was an amazing video! I love footage of fish doing their thing!
And good videos of hunting as well. My hunch is that this video was filmed in Madagascar. Water looks cleaner than the other African videos I've seen. You're all horribly misguided. Brod whittackers videos are the best. And that one from New Zealand of the giant tuna behind the fishing boat. Those actually make you feel something .
I agree!
I LOVE his videos! He truly makes you feel like you're there. Also, I kind of like the fact that most of his epic footage is from shore dives.

Man, I love these photos!
The bottom structure and vegetation in Florida looks ideal for hunting! -
By the way, ^ that's a 20mm rubber on that gun.
Freedivers EVO Reelgun, I believe. -
Here's a video that shows how an ergonomic handle and parallel rubbers probably help with recoil as much as a roller muzzle does.

Omer makes both red and Gray (almost black) dyneema. Good stuff, but not exactly cheap.
Here's a link I found online:
Omer Dyneema Line 50 m. Spearguns Nylon and dyneema lines, Scubastore.com, buy, offers, dive.If color is not too much of an issue, I highly recommend Dynaglide.
It's orange in color, soft to handle at 1.8mm, SUPER abrasion resistant, slick, and has a breaking load of 1000lbs (stated).
AND, Dude George posted a link for a company that sells it for an extremely reasonable rate! (Thanks Dudegeorge!:))
200' Orange Dynaglide | Bishop CompanySorry, couldn't help but give dynaglide a plug!:D

Welcome! Nice video!

I have nothing to contribute to this thread as I have not shot a roller gun as of yet. A friend of mine loves his 85cm roller though!
I can also visualize a roller gun being a conventional gun put on to its side. Thinner bands too! What I can say is that in terms of recoil, an ergonomic handle and bands parallel to the shaft help absorb recoil much better than non-parallel bands. The spearo's hand absorbs the recoil much better this way.
I'm sure there's some solid science backing up roller guns, so I'm gonna wait for some other people to chime in on the subject.

Welcome Mosaad!
I live and dive in the UAE as well!
This is an awesome forum! I'm sure you'll learn a lot from the threads here! -
This is my opinion developed from my over twenty years of Spearfishing...nothing beats the Cressi masks...PERIOD. I love the fit of their masks, the comfort, but most of all (and this where Cressi out does everyone else!) the visibility due to their patented angled lens...can't be beat! I have tried the Nano and love it. If only these Cressi Matrix masks that I've been wearing for about 10 years (?) would wear out or break I would order a pair of Nanos from you Dan. But My Cressi masks (and my Boys'... 4 masks total) just seem to never break, leak, or give us any reason to change. Did I mention the amazing downward visibility?!
Makoa
I agree with you Makoa!
Cressi make great masks and snorkels. I even like their footpockets (Gara 2000 and 3000).
Sadly, their guns are built with small fish in mind. Super light and easy to handle guns though! -
That's f***ing scary!

Here you go sir.
From a year ago. My Nano/GoPro has been perfect for me.
Hope this helps
http://spearfishing.world/phot…tion-advice-please-2.html Post #20This looks way better than the way I bolted on my tripod mount!
I just drilled a hole through the bridge area... looks sketchy, but it's easy to mess up the drilling location! Thankfully, I got it right! For people who own the Cressi Nano, Hau's method is way more safer and better than mine!

I've been able to drill a small (approx 6mm) hole on the nose-bridge area of the mask, and have been able to attach a Gopro tripod mount to it. I'll take some pictures and post it here soon.
It's a tiny area to drill, and I believe that it's very easy to mess it up if not done carefully. The hole points slightly upwards, in the forward direction. Super stable with the right length of stainless steel screw.

Best of luck in Panama, Marco!
I'm sure you'll land some crazy fish there too!:thumbsup5:
