I have yet to try the Pursuit rubber but will in the near future. I have used Mori and Spearitco and don't really have a problem with them. I didn't really like the RA 20mm blue stuff, really hard to pull back and not a smooth release in my opinion.

I have owned the 60" and 63", what are you shooting now. I feel they get a little nose heavy after 55-57" and would prefer his Ono gun personally but if you are already shooting a big mid-handle you might love it.

Is Jim doing ok? Have not heard from him in a while.
Psycho, I have a 130 CF Aimrite Venom I could trade. Which 150 is yours?
Dan: I use 7 mm x 170 cm, my friends use 7.5 mm x 180 cm. Notched for me, pinned for them.
I'm looking to pay less than 40$ for the shafts. I found them in the past but Jim Doe went out of business.

The old Barry Paxsman reel, very nice!
-
Dan,
Great to year you will be getting the shafts soon, will they be tri-cut?
-
I believe there is a distributor in Florida, he was on the other board. Let me know if you need help finding him.
-
Does anyone know where to purchase the new Aimrite muzzles?

When you boil them they come open, it sounds like the pressure cooker might be a nice idea also!

John,
I can do either sashimi or slow boil it at a low temp and it comes out nice and tender.

A friend and I got in the water today, yesterday there was an advisory stating no water activity (not that the wife would of allowed anyways). So we got in today Sunday afternoon about 3:00 pm for a short dive. Water conditions were good, flat, and the viz was normal for this place about 25 feet. While to the eye the conditions were flat, the current was pretty strong.
All of the kids were out playing but the grown ups must have been on lockdown. A good variety of fish but they were all small, I decided to take the dive in a different direction and got a nice sized clam and a small snail. With the gun in one hand and these two in the other I called it quits after about 2 hours. My friend got a couple of pan sized fish for dinne,r and all-in-all it was nice to get in the water.

I think the Mares and Picasso would work in the 46/48 size.

Kind of this island has a weird shape and is full of protected areas depending on the wind/current.

Here are a few pics I had on my computer at work of some of the coastline here.
Nice haul chuck. How about a pic of your coastline over there?

How big the red fish get there, its hard to get them much bigger than the one in the picture here for me. I agree with the bones, but my daughter loves them.
Wow, aside from the pattern on the lobsters, looks like a pic from Hawaii.
We have the same night tako - different species than the day ones, a fair amount longer/skinnier. Still good eats.
My grandparents love the red fish menpachi/squirrelfish... but the small sharp bones make it challenging to eat. Nevertheless, the flavor is good & I still take em when possible.
Thanks for the before/after pics. Always cool to see!

Thanks everyone, the way I have been taught by the locals here is as follows:
Remove eyes, head, beak
Rinse thoroughly
Mince with salt ( this supposedly gets the slimy stuff of)
Optional - put in the freezer (it is supposed to soften the meat and take away the rubbery texture
Low heat boil, just long enough so when you poke it, the knife easily penetrates the meatI like to eat it in salads, ceviche, and just plain old sushi. I am running in a marathon this Sunday so I hope to be posting more reports after that the training is crazy and I'm not a runner just something my friend suckered me into doing.
I'll get some pics of hte coastline next time, the terrain minus the volcanos is very similar to Hawaii.

Last night a couple of friends and I headed out on a long drive to go for a night dive. After 2:30 hours we arrive at the destination. Starting gearing up, man the wind was making it cold outside! Ok so after everyone is suited up we start heading down the hill to get in. By the time we reach the shore (20 minutes) its no so cold anymore and we get in.
Started out really dead no life at all, the water was very flat and the tide was begining to come back in and it was about 9:30 when we entered the water. After about an hour or so we finally starting to find some lobster and fish.
It was a great night spent spearing with friends, everyone got about 3 lobster each, a decent size grouper, very big parrot fish and I got an Octopus about 10 feet from the shore on the way back in. We are now out of the water and of course freezing again. We start to climb back up the hill and this time by the top it was not so cold again. Here are a few before and after pics I took of what I brought home.

Where they commenting on the Stingray blades or the footpockets themselves?

Looking at the small picture at the bottom the tabs in the back are different and the word Picasso is written above the Picasso logo, both are differences from your picture of GR"s fins above.
-
It looks Similar to the Stimulus, I wonder what are the differences? The little tab above the heel is one difference for sure.

Must be why you can dive so deep.
