It would be hard to get what you want for what you want to spend. I would look at the following guns:
    - Wong Super Magnum
    - Sea Sniper
    - Merlo
    - Hamilton
You can expect to pay $1,800 to $2,500 for one of these hand crafted masterpieces. I love them all so I am not going to try and steer.you towards any particular one. Look at it this way. You will be diving the rest of your life and will hopefully go on some epic trips. Get that special gun that is made just for you.:toast::toast:

    Good luck.

I generally double my bottom time in the 0 to 60 stuff just to maintain a relaxed rythm. When I start pushing in current I may do double plus 1 minute before I begin my breath up cycle. In deeper water I always do double plus a minute.
For me the watch is a must have piece of saftey equipment. I dove without one for years but consider myself lucky that I did not SWB. If you use the watch to off gas at the surface and then dive when you feel good I think you will be a lot safer. Just saying:toast:

I brought that same unit to La Paz a couple years back. It gets the job done for finding structure. I rigged up a PVC pipe with the transducer connected that could be lowered off the side of the boat when looking for the spot and stored when running.

imo it's better to get it off the reef as fast as possible so it doesn't hole up but if it does you can use the lift of the float to put pressure on it and eventually it will come out. i lost all of my bluewater gear in pv last year when i shot a 60+ fish with a sliptip and bungie on a breakaway. the fish stretched the bungie enough and the sliptip allowed it to go deep into a hole. if i had a short it with a hard float line and a short (one wrap) shooting line i may have been able to horse it up in time. the other thing is, if i was usuing a flopper shaft i think the fish would not have been able to hole up too deep with a shaft sticking through it.
    again, my opinion.

    Steve,
I agree with you when it comes to Pargo. There is a 100 lb Pargo holed up off Corbetania with one of my shafts and a Mori Slip Tip at 120 feet. If I was using a float line instead of a bungee He would have made the icebox instead of the deep rock ledge.
There is no perfect set up for Baja. Over rig and you have too much pressure and under rig you stand the chance of kissing your rig good bye. I like a 100 foot float line to a 25 ft bungee for Wahoo, Marlin ect and everything Bluewater in baja except Tuna. For Bottom fish go with the shortest floatline and the most floats you can drag around.:toast::toast:

I have owned 5 DiveSkin suits. Spiros is a great guy and provides a great product for the money. However, Dan has converted me to the Pursuit Wetsuits. The quality is second to none and the streatchy rubber makes for an almost custom fit. I have two Pursuit Wetsuits now and could not be happier:toast: And now back to the show!!

aimrite uses rubber stoppers (a very tight fit) .there is no need to worry about the amount of water that will enter threw the fibers it will never be measurable in the tube .thats just something engineers worry about, in the world of spearguns i have never found it to be a problem they just dont spend enuff time it the water

Aimrite started doubble plugging my tubes because of the depths that I dive. Using a doubble plug and some 5200 will eliminate any problems that may occur from deep diving pressure.
