Hau glad you found fish I was everywhere from vista to boca today and jellyfish were everywhere. I found less in 55 fsw but couldn't dive it due to some congestion. I saw lots of small black grouper and a couple big mangroves today. 2 of us managed to get 9 bugs but due to wishbone failure I wasn't able to hunt.

I was in key west last november and it was in the 40s in the afternoons. I dove the bay for bugs and the reports were saying 55 degree water temps. very cold in a 5mm but I didn't wash up onshore like thousands of dead fish. I think snook took the biggest hit

is that an 18mm band? That is the length I use for 5/8 bands. Also, a 4" wishbone is too long and can cause problems with line wrapping in bands when shot. Cut it down to at least 3" and you can even go shorter. Thanks for the help

its a 19mm band, my 16mm bands were shorter than my 19mm. Never had a problem with my wishbone, but i'll keep it in mind. I've seen lots of guys use them longer than 4"

Well its been well over a month and this thing hasn't changed at all. I have acquired a Mori slip-tip, big thanks goes out to John Hanson, and trigger mech. Shaft is on its way handle frame will be picked up with the shaft. I have drawn the outline for the handle to begin shaping it but that's all. Despite a recommendation or 2 I am still trying to achieve the 1890mm total length. I think this will make a good bluewater gun although I've never made one before. My measurements tell me I should have about 54" of band stretch and will shoot a 63"x5/16" shaft plus sliptip. Despite my initial wanting to make it hip loading I decided to say screw it and make it chest loading, it allows me to make a bigger gun and stay at my 189cm total length mark. I can chest load my reef gun fine why not KISS and make my bluewater gun a chest loader as well.

I have the pursuit and love it, much faster load time than my 2 16's were. It is a workout though, make sure you don't cut it too short. Right now at the beginning of the day I load on the back tab but by the end of the day Im on the front tab haha

Not sure exactly what that means. But the glock 18 and 18c are full auto capable from glock. As for NFA guns it depends where you live. Some places its near impossible ie Cali and other places its is much easier. Here is Florida were pretty lucky as our gun laws are pretty lenient and we have reciprocity with the majority of states. I think it was up to like 37 last I checked.

I didnt know it was a yearly cost. I thought it was a one time cost per suppressor. My uncle is in the process of getting his approved. Its going to take him at least 3-4 months before ATF approves his application. Some companies like GemTech will pay your application fees if you apply at a certain time. I think August 15 for GemTech. I cant wait until his is approved. Gunna have a lot of fun with that thing.

Just looked it up in more depth, looks like its $200 per NFA weapon, which is just a tax stamp. There isn't actually any permit/license issued. Then comes all the paperwork and waiting....

Just about anything can be made full auto with a file and a little time. I uh knew somebody once who was trying to smooth his trigger pull and filed/polished too much and ended up with full auto. Rather than leave it he bought new parts and now has a very smooth ar15

    Thanks toptuna!

Dan, I have seen firsthand, topside, trolling for marlin and sails, as they slash the bait spread over and over. The correct technique, once that happens, is to freespool the reel and let the bait appear to have died. Next step after a pause is to set the hook.some captains slow the troll, others just freespool. It was clear to us that the fish were killin bait with their bills.

Blue Planet had some great UW footage of marlin slashing up bait alls and eating the bait. Complete with pics of the bait cut in half and trying to swim away from a cloud of its own blood, only to be aspirated by these marlins. Awesome clip.

X2 on the slashing, the only sailfish I've caught thus far was brought in on a kingfish rig's stinger treble. He got it wrapped around the base of the bill and the treble set in just hard enough to keep it from unwrapping. Awesome fish to catch.

for give the ignorance but how is a leopard different from a huge hind which is what it looks like to my untrained eye?

    thanks

From what I can find leopard grouper is pacific whereas speckled hind is Atlantic/Caribbean they are in the same family but are different genus and species. Epinephelus drummondhayi - hind, plectropomus leopardus - leopard grouper.

    Very nice fish Underway!

bench grinder is great for sharpening pencil point. cutoff wheel or dremel with cutting wheel will cut though a shaft. In a bind a good hack saw would also work for cutting down a shaft depending on its material.
