Merry Christmas, and a happy new year to all of my Speardiver friends.

So I got my thumb in ones mouth years ago and still wear the scars. Know someone who fell into the fish box and stuck his hand in a dead ones mouth. He got a bunch of stitches. Still one of my favorite fish to shoot and to eat.
Yea, its closed. They are everywhere. I shot some mangrove on that trip, they are just as good, as well as the sheephead. Cuda are more fun.
Here's a video of cuda shooting with Cedric from a month or so back. Had a little Bull shark issues, but didnt phase Ced.
Hope you enjoy,
Keith
Thanks for the info,
The handle (trigger mech) broke yesterday. I got to shoot probably 3 fish with it since I got it. One of them was pretty nice though.
I didn't get on the Pelaj bashing bandwagon, actually defended them. Cant believe it failed with the wimpy bands that came on it. At least i didn't pay much for it, and I still have the shaft, bands, and tube. Maybe one day I will buy a good handle for it, as well as an open muzzle.
For know, I couldn't recommend them.
Keith
Got a Pelaj Nemesis gun from someone who won it for a door prize. Shot a few fish with it, but would like to change to a open muzzle. Can anyone suggest an open muzzle for me? I am new to modifying guns. Normally I buy them the way the are and use them, but would really like an open muzzle on this one.
Thanks in advance
Keith
Yes!
I need some different Mackerel recipes, one of my favorite fish to shoot also.
Nice fish and good shooting
KC
100lb fish is not a joke for anyone. More so if not geared up for it.
Well said Dan,
I compare it to getting into the ring;
" everyone has a plan till they get hit."
KC
Yeah Marco, I wanted to see what it was all about for myself, now i can say been there done that and bollocks to reels and pelagics...
I had a buddy once who shot a big AJ with a reel and 150ft of line. Problem was, the bottom was 325' at this platform. he was on the surface yelling "fish on!"until the line ran out, then the gun was gone. It was my gun.
I think you did a great job getting pelajics with the reel gun. Shot Mackerel but cant imagine what shooting Wahoo is like.
Good job, especially with the new gun.
Keith
I thought it was an Omer.
Going to get another 100cm gun. Between Omer and Picasso. Sure miss the MB and T20 style guns
Nice stringer. What gun are you using? The Mackerel are one of my favorite targets also.
I got a nice barracuda, but I know it's not appreciated in the USA.
Here's a pic.
Marco,
You are right, most in my area don't eat Cuda. BUT, this is what happens to them at my house.
I eat them with black beans and a nice Chianti.
KC
Last Saturday with my dive buddy Ced. Was not a good day for the Cudas.
KC
What gun are you using Marco?
I got a nice barracuda, but I know it's not appreciated in the USA.
Here's a pic.
It's appreciated by me Marco! I shoot the hell out of them!
Nice one, I love them fried.
Used your jack recipe (scallopinia Milanese? I don't spell your language well) and my son thought it was some type of game like deer or wild pig.
That's quite a story KC.
I had 2 guys from work with me on the boat hook and line fishing. They saw the ray come out of the water and assumed that I had shot it. They kept saying "you must have missed the cobia and hit the ray"
I got mad and came in.
KC
Marco,
I feel your pain. I have lost 2 cobia this year, one to a gut shot and a long battle that ended with me losing him an arms length away.
The second;
I shot a large cobia from under a manta ray. It swam in front of the ray and the ray took off at warp speed with the shooting line (and cobia) wrapped around its "horn". Spooled the reel on my 86cm Omer MB 30 in seconds, and broke the line and reel support after pulling me through the water for 30 yards or so.
Sometimes crap happens
KC
Hard one to answer exactly. I weight myself neutral at 20 or so feet. I am 6' 1" 220lbs and wear a 3mm suit with 12lbs of weight. Most times I stop swimming and sink at 20 ft, seems like it takes me 4 or 5 kicks to get there. I dive vertical structure, so I am not always "heading to the bottom" since fish hold at all levels. But when I am going for grouper or snapper on the bottom in 65 or 70 ft., I kick the entire way. I will count when I go in 2 weeks. I wear mares razor pro fins.
used the sporasub aspic for years, found that sporasub no longer "made" that model. Saw the JBL frameless mask one day and discovered it is the very same mask. Use it now.
