The Legends of Spearfishing event is coming up in 9 days! This has turned into an EPIC event. The shear number of true Legends coming to speak is amazing. Plus we have an outstanding collection of historical guns, the incredible art work of Amadeo, Jimmy and Ken, sponsor booths, food, beer, and hundreds of spearos gathering in one spot! All of that AND one huge raffle!

I am so grateful to be part of a community in which so many people have stepped up to donate items for the raffle.

Wong 50" Hybrid rear handle plus.
$450 with the Alexander handle OBO
$400 with the standard Wong handle OBO

Flopper, new bands and new rigging. I know alot of people don't like the Alexander handle because it is too heavy, but to me, the Wong handle just feels too weak.

I am selling it because it is almost the same as my 90 SS. I like the SS so much more, that the Wong will just end up sitting here. So I might as well sell it and get a different gun.

Willing to trade for a longer rail/euro gun, GoPro, watch... Want/need lots of stuff.

We have a large tent that will be set up next to J&J. The tent hold 300 chairs, plus the stage and AV equipment.

I am looking for 5 more guys to go out with Capt Leo this coming Saturday (Feb 5) for a local kelp bed/reef trip. We'll be leaving out of Oceanside harbor at 1pm and returning by 6:30. I would like to hit a kelp bed or two and maybe hit one of the inside reefs. We'll have to wait until Saturday to really decide what the plan will be, according to conditions and reports. Swell forecast is looking pretty good for Saturday. Hopefully we'll find some vis.

$80 per person.

I have a SeaSniper Reef Pro and a Wong 50 Hybrid. I just sold a 57 Gil Striker. The SS is a great reef gun. It has an enclosed track, lots of power and is really accurate. For hunting reefs in SoCal and in the Sea of Cortez it is awesome! The 50 Wong is very similar to the SS. I doesn't have an emclosed track, but the band pull is identical. The Wong in rear handle plus, not a true mid handle but I can spin it in the water really quickly to track a fish.

The Gil Striker is a big heavy piece of wood. It shot like a tomohawk missle, super accurate, super powerful. It was just too heavy and cumbursome for my type of hunting.

Phil makes amazing guns! Not sure what his prices are though.

I would suggest not limiting yourself to either a Wong or a Riffe. I think there are lots of other guns out there that are high quality and a lot cheaper. If you are resigned to Wong or Riffe, look at used. You can pick up a used Wong 55 for a few hundred below a grand.

I am pretty sure the second fish is a cobia. A remora has a patch of "flaps" on top of its head. This creates a type of suction used to hold it next to bigger fish. The remora can effertlessly stay with the larger fish and gobble up the scraps. It doesn't appear that your fish has that patch?

I am up in Edmonton, Alberta this week trying to win a contract. They keep telling me that -17C is not really that cold. Last week in was -30. I was here two weeks ago, it was 0C. Every one here called that "balmy". I think the cold causes mental issues.

This event is going to be incredible. So many people have put forth so much effort. The art work is incredible. The historic guns will be amazing. Here the speakers will be a once in a life time opportunity. And there is free beer.

here is a recent project i will include the plans we started with because the pics dont show the size or scale of the gun . This gun is a true custom ,at every step in construction i would send pics to the owner and we would make changes as we went and almost every part on the gun is one of a kind or made just for that gun.this gun was designed for a 5/16 shaft and 3 x 5/8 bands
