Honestly, I'm diving as well as I ever have. I get into that relaxed state, get down and relax on the bottom. But I'm getting as much pleasure seeing the boys doing it, as I do getting a big fish myself. I'm as happy when they get a nice fish, as they are !!
We're in a developmental phase. And as much as Tino (17) is stoked to be driving the boat, and even haven taken it out twice without me, ......heh....heh....NOW, he can drive and I can dive.
    The fish are nervous. :D

Oh, and no pics, but Mo got two more nice barracuda on Saturday. One was 17 lbs gutted. He's crazy. Tino got a 14 lb cubera. I stayed home and baby sat.....and we're expecting another grandchild any day.....I was on standby ...

The Mo Show....has been renamed, the Barracuda Kid. He got three nice big ones. No fear. Using a small mackerel as chum, one came right up in his face. i was in the boat and saw it jump out of the water. It came back and he shot it. 14 years old....crazy. He got this nice dog snapper at about 65 feet.
I just drive the boat now and put the boys on fish. The let me in the water after Mom's got enough to pay for the gas. haha. Sorry for the fuzzy pic. Must have been blood on the lens.
El Marco and I are going to retire soon and our 14 year old sons will take over....

Cool. I've never had one that wasn't wary and kept its distance. Daryl Wong has one he named Chomper at one of his sites. It comes right up to them when they dive there.

I'll definitely give you a call. Would love to tag along with you again, you still have the Carrot Juice? Ok i'll let him know.

I sold Carrot Juice and now have a bigger boat. 28 feet, deeper....much better ride.

Did you get a reel for your gun? I have a Rob Allen I found lying around yesterday. We can put it on your gun if it will fit. I'm not working right now and have a lot of free time.

Nice! Never been fishing in or on a river, would love to hear about how and what you spear in the river.
    Welcome.

These Blue Creek boys are badass. The rivers are full of crocs and they go at night. brrrrrr.....:thumbsup2:

Hi everyone, i grew up fishing and spearing in the rivers of Belize and about a year ago i purchased a boat and now head out to the reef whenever i get a chance. It's completely different from what i know and i am looking forward to learning from you guys and hopefully become efficient at spearing on the reef.

Irv, if you're who I think you are, welcome to Spearfishing World. Great site and a bunch of great people here who are experienced and share generously. If you're not who I think you are, welcome too !! haha

Mo got the fish of his life. 51 lbs. We found a nice school of dogs and Tino shot one. Then this guy shows up like maybe he was thinking of grabbing the dog.
Tino starts yelling for me or Mo. I was just climbing onto the boat so Mo....just went over and stoned it. :thumbsup2:
These boys....unreal. They took the boat out last week while I was in Hawaii. I guess they're going to retire me. But I did get a nice hog and a nice mutton. The mutton wrapped around a coral head and I had to dive down twice to get it untangled.
Almost didn't go out. It rained like hell and the river was like coffee and cream. But once we got out, the sea was nice and clear.

Hank - Did you get out today? If so how did the fins work out?

Yep, we went out a little late. The fins are comfortable. I used thin socks. The actually seemed a bit.....softer?....I guess is a good description. But diving down, I close my eyes a lot for the first 30 feet or so and most dives I was pretty impressed with my descent rate.

And Mo got his all time fish. The boys are good. Tino had shot a nice dog and this guy seemed interested in maybe having an early dinner. Mo swam over and stoned it.

Tino used the Pursuit,, or Speardiver fins now. He's good. I should switch back? :thumbsup2: Actually my next investment should just be glasses so I can see the GPS to get the boys on the fish.

    Yep

I would go for a 55" or 140 cm gun in Hawaii. The fish are spooky and pretty educated. It takes a bit of practice and diving skill to get close.
Never dived Florida or Wyoming. :)
