• Hope you South east guys get by with little loss. Wish I had the funds to get on a plane and help you board up the windows or drive you way west.:(

  • Our Florida spearo's & family batten down the hatches and stay safe.

  • I see some blue breaking into the eye and it running parallel just off shore.
    Hang in there Dan.

  • Disappointing :@. Be glad Dan....be very glad that thing didn't hit. I've been through at least 10 and had the power go off for over a month on three of them. (Philippines, Hawaii and Belize) They suck.

  • I went through one on a 55 foot sailboat with a crew of 3 - it is good to have a miss 😱👍

I was staying in a house about a quarter mile from this harbor. Just across the bridge that broke on Mactan Island. We had no idea it was coming back in those days and had planned to ship baby shrimp that night but the plane never showed up. Then the wind came.

Our hatchery was well built and became a refugee center. We had private planes that delivered our shrimp, flying in rice, dried fish, water...I hate typhoons. :(

  • Hank, I experienced two category 5 hurricanes; Michelle in 2001 and Wilma in 2005 (we were without power for 2 weeks). There's certainly a feeling of relief here, but also undeniably after all the preparation it feels strangely anti-climactic. Obviously others feel something similar hence the video. I know you speak some Spanish so give it a shot, it had me LOL

  • It looks like the storm swell is going to linger for at least another two weeks, then figure another 3-5 days after the seas calm back down for the visibility to improve around the coast. I know the water around Miami had about 12" visibility on friday.
