Awesome job Mo, great job Hank.

Hank - Did you get out today? If so how did the fins work out?
-
How's this one look?
You're right Marco. This fin fits me pretty good. I haven't swam with it yet but it feels good when I try it on.

Go see a doctor about the hole and redness in your right foot Hank :@

Like Dan said - getting old sucks but you have a ways to go yet. But it sure sounds like a shaft like others have said. Try new shaft and if it doesn't work - let Mo get the fish and you "snorkel" . One other trick that someone we know uses with good results that you may want to try out of desperation - wear pink.

Nice haul Hank. I see one bug in the cooler. How common are these on your reefs? Hand catch? I found them easy to catch in the pacific side of Panama but real tough on the Caribbean/Atlantic reefs because "holes" are much deeper.

Hank is hunkered down while Tropical Storm Earl is bearing down on Belize. Stay safe and enjoy your after Eral birthday dive Hank.

Wow Oscar. I hope all is well with that. Our past catches up with us and we pay in pain.
Yep - had we know we would live this long - we would have behaved differently - or not.

I think so, Marco. You never know. But before we too old, it'd be great to hook up. Maybe even get George over here. That'd be cool....and Oscar. Even if we don't get fish, it'd be fun enough listening to Oscar give George shit all day about his wetsuit, guns, and whatever else he could think of.
Georgie Porgie is a kook.
Damn that would be fun.
I received 5 cortisone shots while "under" this morning in my neck. Been having issues and MRI showed some degeneration - probably from an injury in the early eighties while on a sailing/diving vacation in the Virgin Islands living on a sailboat. Dove from a tree branch into clear clear water and hit sandy bottom - HARD. MJ might have been a factor :nono::@

Happy fourth Don - Thumper is coming along nicely. Hell - you might be close to launch. :thumbsup2:

Welcome - I left the other board ages ago. To much anger, hate, politics, caca for my taste. :nono:

Agree with Dan - all of us would have taken the shot. Great video and story - thanks for sharing.

Welcome

A rattle can of orange paint can help prevent gun loss. Maybe some high vis tape if you don't want to commit to painting. Out here a gun floating horizontally in the kelp can be very hard to find. Especially when shore diving and trying to manage a stringer of fish at sunset. I use this gun for 3-5ft visibility. Mostly bottom crawling technique. My next WSB gun build will be high viz orange. No camo or dark colors for me.
Nice stringer of "Butts"

Perhaps what he was doing was "pushing it", not enough info for me to know. If, big IF, if the fb account was accurate - he was pushing his luck. But how much on fb is accurate? Hopefully the real story will come out from the diver himself - or someone that was there.
In the meantime - hope he fully recovers.
-
There has been a lot of traffic on fb regarding this incident. Not sure what is factual or hype but one fb posting indicated that the Bull sharks were being chummed and the spearo shot a Coiba hanging around the jacked up Bull Sharks. If true - sounds like an accident waiting to happen.
Just my opinion but chumming up sharks seems to associate us with food and the sound of a speargun going off signaling "food" might be setting up more incidents and accidents.
Not good IMHO.
Having said that - sure hope the guy is ok and doesn't lose his arm.
-
RIP Rene - we lost a true legend.
-
Damn -RIP. Guessing SWB based on the way and location he was found.
