    The irony is that, knowing Daryl, I can guarantee had they asked nicely, he would have gladly given them the fish and a free speargun. Thats the type of guy he is. No doubt in my mind, the allegations are jelous hearsay from fisherman that cant catch a cold.

    I know the feekling:)! Your report was a ray of sunshine in my otherwise glummy work day;) being landlocked by lifd sucks!!Yes wahoo go apeshit over wahoo guts specially fresh ones. A whole head also works well also. Sometimes we cut off the head to ice em better and they always get a ton of attention. Try to flare the gill to slow the decent. The skins sometimes fall like a snowflake all slow and give off amazing flashes. Im pretty sure theyll canabalize an injuredfish.

    For some reason, no matter what we use, it seems if its been frozen, it works but never as good.
    Wahoo, permit and kingfish skin are Awsome chum.

    Sweet!!! Itz amazing how spent fighting a fish and the conditions can make you feel. I love when a plan works out:) sound like fun!! Even reeling in all the reel line;) best of both worlds. I have a feeling your friend in gona bug nonstop to go again. I know I would!! Btw wahoo guts make the best chum ever!! The stomach cut into strips is only second to conch as the best bonefish bait on the planet. Next to a fish cleaning station, forget it!!! Ive started savind all my fish skins when I process and freeze them for use on the next trip as chum. Has worked well and saves us $$$

    I think those thugs got lucky, they chose Daryl. Daryl deserves the Aloha award for coolness under pressure. On my boat, getting rammed on purpose with divers in the water is IMHO justification to be in fear for ones life and would likely end with deadly force. Most of the dudes I know would also act in the same way, I guess there isnt much aloha in Fl.


    To those guys father, 2 wrongs dont make a right. I am pretty sure Daryl could make alot more money woodworking or fixing grills than rapping the reef that he loves. Glad he is ok.

    They thing is in South Florida even a regulation size flag sometimes goes unotice. I am thinking full on like the flags youd hang up on a dorm room wall. I know I would fly it on my boat for sure.

    Any thought of creating a monster size flag, like 3ft. I have always wanted one and figure it would just add to the visibility? Never really gotten around to trying to find one. My boat is only a bit larger than a kayak, hence the extra concern for being seen. Carry on

    Cheap reel line, and taking a less than ideal shot on a fish that clearly was going to test every link in the chain. I have done both those things myself. However they got it in the bag, with persistance and team effort. Some kook diving alone, with a 1m jbl, no floatline or reel, would have had no chance other than getting super lucky. I know a few dudes that could have easily polespeared that bugga and likely stoned it at that range. Glad this video got some discussion going:)) carry on mates

    There alot to discuss with this video. The most important imo: they were diving with buddies, albeit not as strict as I personally preffer. This is a great example how following the cardinal rule of diving "always have a buddy" can help one overcome eventual and INIVITABLE mishaps.

    Just saw the video:) epic! Theres always those time where you tell yourself, if I had ole faithfull(in my case ethier a ra 90 or 120) that you are certain a fish would have rolled over dead, like magic. For me at least I find myself taking longer to get shoots off due to having less trigger time on my bw gun, but its purely a matter of practice. I think your situation is a perfect example of when a belt reel can come in handy. Either way, one day you win, onether the fish win. Its how it goes. My string of hoo mishaps is so long its emberassing.
