Went out with my dad it’s tradition we go every year for mini season water was beautiful we got 36 bugs in an hour

went 41 lbs just scaled it. I dropped vis was bad saw the structure, kept sinking down spotted him in the sand and kept falling on him without finning about 5 feet away from him i lined up a head on shot. he swam up towards surface with shaft in him. I didnt know how well placed the shot was so I didnt want to pull on him. I think the shot broke his back. My biggest black so far
here are some other pics

pantoja and I last saturday, cubera went about 9lbs black margate was over 10lbs. dove some of our old spots. the other diver was sick of sinusitis and couldnt dive. Dan also called in sick this day. lol I got a nice male hog on the ledge and a few medium yellow jacks. Saw some yellowjacks in the 20-30lb class . had a pesky reef shark trying to eat our fish the whole day.

I ran into some spear divers the other day using this contraption. Does it work? Anyone ever tried one? Looks great for days the current is ripping. I would also like to dive alone much more often and not have my boat drift too far Drift Socks

why didnt you dive the deep wrecks? they always hold fish??? with that vis you can venilate well and easily get a shot down there

got a snapper that was 10lbs last friday ..9lbs 15 ounces on the electric scale . not sure if it was a cubera I think its a big ass mangrove. measured about 31 inches

Great catch Alan, 80ft is very nice diving. How long does it usually take you to recover after a dive like that?
not long i'd say around 3 minutes.. Ive been exercising every night and I quit drinking so maybe by the summer I can have a lower resting heart rate and stay leaner and healthier.
no more bottle diving... just muff diving and freediving for now.

this past saturday.. good day out there... pantoja shot most the fish on there lol and got stung by a lion fish... i got a mutton yellow jack and a few hogs

i didnt like my beauchat and I sold it in 2 weeks after purchase. It brings a shit shaft that bends easily, its overpowered from factory, and it feels like a toy. I took my beauchat over by dans house and he saw it also.
ANY gun with the right shaft band combo will shoot accurate and kill fish. I think rob allens are indestructible. I think beauchat is made for shooting 4 lb fish in the med. I think any 20- 40lb fish will mangle that gun around any structure.
my .02 cents. if you like it get it.

we have been killing these fish everytime we see one now. Pantoja says they are delicious and they have alot of meat. does anyone have a technique they use to cut the poison spines off? do you carry a scissor in your dive belt? how do you handle them?
they definetly look like they are just as good to eat as the best fish out there.
