Could be that location has something to do with it. I got hit by 2 spines in the in knuckle of my left index finger and thumb... I had to remove the tip of the spine from my knuckle after it broke off...

i got stung on the tip of my right hand thumb. it was really painfull. incredibly painfull actually. i think it has to do with where you get stung and the amount of venom u get. . today i was looking on the area and saw little cavity , like a white bubble on the tip of the thumb , it seems that was where the bone went in and lst the poison. i cut it open and squeezed it and some fluid came out. the most interesting thing about the experience was that at night i couldn't sleep because of the pain but i was not feeling tired at all even after a whole day of fishing. so i guess the good thing about getting stung is that u can party all night once the pain is under control. even though it is what it is , im not affraid of catching them ~`~`~`~`ers and/ or getting stung again. i'll probably find out if my body can get used to it. on another page. weather sucked but it was an awsome day in the water. :thumbsup2:

Great catch Alan, 80ft is very nice diving. How long does it usually take you to recover after a dive like that?
not long i'd say around 3 minutes.. Ive been exercising every night and I quit drinking so maybe by the summer I can have a lower resting heart rate and stay leaner and healthier.
no more bottle diving... just muff diving and freediving for now.

I think fingers are really painful because we have a lot of nerve endings there too, compared to say, your calves, thighs or bony areas like ankles, elbows etc.

pantoja and I last saturday, cubera went about 9lbs black margate was over 10lbs. dove some of our old spots. the other diver was sick of sinusitis and couldnt dive. Dan also called in sick this day. lol I got a nice male hog on the ledge and a few medium yellow jacks. Saw some yellowjacks in the 20-30lb class . had a pesky reef shark trying to eat our fish the whole day.
