why isnt his gun loaded,ha
its all fun and games till 3/4 of ur body is swallowed,,, guy seems on his toes though
This video is disturbing. Is the diver one of them nature nuts like Timothy Treadwell, or that fool of a marine biologist Erich Ritter, just waiting to be chomped on? Or does he know something that we don't about those particular sharks?
i think hes probably one of the two types u jsut described, or some friggen guy who thinks hes keen on the way a shark thinks,, in my opinion the right stimulus and that shark would of made a quick sweep or charge and that would of been the end of that, also with the fast metabolism those large free swimming sharks have, it would of only been a matter of time before the big white would of gotten hungry enough to get more than jsut a little visually curious
I read or heard that GW are actually quite sensitive when in that mode. The thing is that if you see them in the water it's because they're undecided in the first place otherwise the first time you'd know the shark was there is when it struck you, they're great ambushers. So when they're undecided like that they can be scared off with just fast aggressive gestures.
oh, true ive heard the same,, that they stalk from some number of feet down and away, and then make serious attempt when decided,,
This guy has been freediving with GW for a while now. He offers cage diving charters in South Africa. Here is a link to his page.

Notice on the video how he entered the water without much splashing and every time the shark is coming directly to him, he has his legs curled and in a vertical position... never in a horizontal position. I think he is trying to make himself look as big as possible and trying not to look like a seal on top of the water. That may be useful for us if we ever have a shark coming to us face to face... although I think most of the attacks reported historically are to the limbs in murky waters and by surprise.
All in all I think he's nuts

Who are those?
He is not mentally fit. Something is inherently wrong with that he does .. No good
Who are those?
Timothy Treadwell/nut went to live with grizzly bears, after a few years of being lucky he eventually got eaten by a bear, so did his girlfriend.

Erich Ritter is a marine biologist/idiot who stood in waist deep water full of chum and bull sharks giving an interview to a camera exalting the benign nature of sharks, then he got a piece of his leg chomped off on camera.
lol they really got it coming!! They are the empirical evidence to the statement of a matter of fact: Stupid hurts.
i have a friend who did a cage dive with this guy in SA and she said he was crazy as a dingbat but very tuned into the sharks and in a way that she said was both tangible and impressive...still just a matter of time til he's lunch....
sharks are perfect, he's not
glad you enjoy it...as i typed it it felt particularly true...i thought about editing to say perfect hunters or perfect killers, but that is silly, they hunt to kill to eat..perfect......
i love sharks, but they are still food to me and they scare the beJesus out of me
i love how this forum is really in concert.. we def don't think the same about everything(see spearboard conversations b/t myself and A. proffitt) but we do FEEL the same...it makes conversation and debate so much easier and more comfortable...thanks dan, and thanks to you all
