No. If I wanted to I don't know where I'd sleep. Why do you ask?
Best secure SS quick release snap?

Lost at sea is never a good thing, lay down 2 to 1 scope as your boat is light and has little windage if you are close by. 3 to 1 with 15'of chain if your over night and want to sleep well.

Gotcha, thanks.

Do you have access to the back of bow eye?
-
Didn't check. Why?

Here's the finished painter with the quick release snap. I had fun last night learning how to splice an eye in rope. The painter is connected to the bow eye permanently with a splice as well.

cool, so the main force is absorbed by the boweye, but the quick adjustments are done with the snap?
-
Correct. I just haven't figured out how I'm going to make attachment points on the anchor line. Any knot weakens a line, plus galvanized chain links will cause abrasion and stainless steel rings are expensive. Now that I'm learning to splice rope I'm leaning towards splicing eyes into it.

probably a good idea...the only thing I would suggest is that you add a cleat behind the splice..that way you could have two or three SS links at 40/80/120ft and then use the cleat to tie off if a distance in between those length is needed...not too expensive for the links and infinite variability...

I don't understand adding a cleat behind the splice?
