That's funny Don. Did the same when i first started using a vest. One thing to keep in mind is that your snorkel will ride lower in the water with additional weight on the vest. I think I use eight lbs with my 5mm suit.

I have found it also makes a great place to stow a cell, folder knife, and cliff bars on mountain bike rides and hikes. Just remember to take the stuff out before going back in the water. I'm going to make sheep wool accessory pads for my trout flies to use during the off season.

When I'm diving 105 miles offshore at Cortez and Tanner Bank I plan on stowing my survival mirror,green dye, and strobe in two of the unused pockets. I have this gear on my life guard float, but one time a big yellow swam up current with it and I realized I would've been screwed if the live boat didn't spot me in the big seas. Just another use for a great product.

I even like using mine in the pool with light weight. ( and a buddy or GF spotting)
Last year I would sink in fresh water but this year I have been using a salt water pool and have been buoyant, but some of that is due to leaving my ''winter coat'' on.

I believe your going like the vest mate.
