Custom Euro Gun Builders

  • I would like to dedicate this thread to the European custom guns and the artist's that built them.
Many of the company's are gone, weakend by a tough economy and the high costs of building very limited production products.

  • This was posted by my friend Spaghetti on another forum.

Giman Sub: it started 5 or 6 years ago as a small lab, run by father and son, in a small town of southern Italy.
Slowly they built a reputation, and then made a further step with advertisement campaigns, sponsoring competitive divers et cetera.
But still it's a small company of father and son handcrafting spearguns such as these:

  • The upside down trigger is now adopted by another small but brilliant manufacturer, MareMania, near Milan. They started as a diveshop, and then commercially developed their own products.
Noticeable indeed is their Silhouette speargun. Looks like the C4 Urukay, but made of wood and with significant differences: the upsidedown trigger, the water ballast strucutre, the built in reel. It's really a particular speargun.

  • Purapnea was a gun that was gone after a couple of seasons, to bad..... cool concept for sure.
This was their hybryd euro (wood+carbon pipe and carbon laminated track) with very distinguished upside down trigger assembly.

  • Again from Italy, here's a Eban Sub, The company is relatively new to the market, but their guns are very beautiful.

  • Sardinia is home to Arbaleteinlegno which means "wooden spearguns"=arbalete in legno).

They have a very good reputation, and their wooden also reels look very nice . Check out the wooded line release clip but they also make conventional line releases. I have a hand made wood and aluminum reel
on one of my guns. I can tell you they take a long time to fabricate.

  • This one is for Harry, the Abellansub Designed by spanish Victor Abellan, and very skillfully manufactured by the expert italian weapon craftsman Gabriele Cristofolini, these guns have a aggressive appearance with the undefinable essence of beauty and grace.
They're made in Brescia, north of Italy, in the world's most ancient weaponry district (Beretta, Franchi, Perazzi, Uberti, Bernardelli and countless other firearms companies are located in the same few square kilometers where Abellansub spearguns lab as well.

  • And one of Joe's favorites I believe.;):D One from the master.... Dapiran's creation: the Saber. It features two vertical tension pulleys in the muzzle, that's the newer part patented by Giorgio dapiran. The rest is the typical Dapiran's speargun (re. Jedi series), designed with ballistics and ergonomy in mind more than aesthetics and elegance.

  • One more from Italy.. For the high end glass lovers:D .The Huntechnology are actually very slim guns, the main section being only 25 millimeters.

Ok, I'm done for tonight ....need to get back to packing box's :D

    Cheers Don

  • I lied:D Can't turn in with out a little porn....:D Check out this wet dream.. an Italian creation named Arbafan. The gun is his "Zero Attrito 83". Aside of the fine wood craft and the self made trigger/release, you will notice the pulleys in the track, conceptually intended to reduce attrition of the shaft.

  • 4 Sure , Im still saving my Pesos for that gun ,,,,cant wait Dapiran is the Italian Jack Prodanovich ,, always pushing forward

Thanks again for this thread ,, I love true Euro Guns ,, Joe:toast:

    Don Paul,

Your pics are too small! ;)

I have that gun. I dont know if I should sell it or not since i use the new version of the bigger model.

  • Thanks Joe, it's just fun to see what is going on outside the world of sanded ebay timber blanks. Many fitted with mandatory enclosed tracks and unsafe surface mounted screw on handles, on guns that all shoot like lasers at 25' .:rolleyes1:

    Cheers, Don

  • Wow!! Those are some slick sticks. I know Fuzz is ready to pull the trigger on one....I am too!!:toast:

    :thumbsup2::thumbsup2::thumbsup2:

I remember when Totemsub was the hottest wooden euro gun on the market. They're still great shooting, but some of the more progressive designs in the euro market are amazing.

Dapiran is my hero... in awe from the first time I watched Agguato Profundo. I wanted a superjedi for the longest time, but forgot about it till this thread. :(

A coupe others that should be mentioned...
    Esperasub
    Bleutec

  • More for Harry...From Greece here's Mythicon spearguns, I hear their made of wood covered with CF sheets. Check out the artistic rendering of the "antiquated bronze" patina finish.
