Don, I was counting on you It doesn't matter if the video is shot with the Gopro or not. I'll have to make the quality match though, can't have a high quality segment making everything else look bad. I don't know anything about contracts for this purpose.
Dan
All I need from you is a PM hand shake brother Dan. However I would have your shooters sign a hold harmless agreement in case someone slips on a wet swim step trying to get the action.I would also forbid letting a shooter point a loaded camera mounted gun at a diver.
I have tripods, and a hi end digital 8 I like to use for land shots and interviews so I can use basic composition techniques on raw footage that are white balanced.
Regarding the duration of 1.5 hrs of your DVD I would just suggest you start with a 1 hr show of tightly edited content. Our brains have been programed by decades of media exposure to process about 22 minutes of visual data in a 30 min period. It will take a very skilled film maker with flowing footage to keep the average viewer in their seat for 1 hr. Perhaps a two part '' Speros of the World ''release
(sample title) would work. Shooting raw field footage is the easy part. The editors and producer will be sitting in front of a monitor for many nights. Just as a example Blue Water Hunters used app 22 hrs of pro shot footage. Terry Maas's Hi eight footage was a mere speck in the production and was converted
for the project.Terry has moved forward to capture some very stunning images of the life of bill fish and bait.
I have a short film called ''In the eye of the Shark'' I shot and produced in the 90's I'll send you as a resume.
Cheers, Don
