Guns of the legends Collection

Here is a vintage twin barrel Submarine.
The gun came to me with flaking black paint that has preserved the twin blue anodized barrels.
The shaft can handle two power bands, which are centered along the axis of the shaft.
I will need Pop Gun Pete's help with patent details as I know very little about the gun.
More images later. I usually don't restore my vintage guns, other than a soft wash, but may remove the paint on this one.Cheers, Don
PS
I have a lot more guns to post here as time go's on. -
Cool. Looks like something out of 20 thousand leagues beneath the sea.

“The sea is everything. It covers seven tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and healthy. It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides. The sea is only the embodiment of a supernatural and wonderful existence. It is nothing but love and emotion; it is the Living Infinite. ”

I have a lot more guns to post here as time go's on.I have seen a photo of one of these before, the barrels are blue and the grip is grey anodized under that black paint. The upper and lower bands are connected on either side to a special drawbar or wishbone that is pulled back under the tension of all bands simultaneously. The twin slim barrels are intended to replace one fat one, in terms of the required strength, and the spear is controlled top and bottom by the barrels, so this is a variation on the side-slotted barrel idea, but instead of long window slots cut in a tube with a spear running inside the tube, which will weaken it, there are two separate barrels and the space between them is effectively the slot which can run the full length of the barrel rather than just for a section of it. Too much lateral drag on turning and an exercise in making something different to everyone else, the side-slotted barrel idea had already been killed off by the Champion "Arbalete". Note the slide action trigger. I have never seen a patent for it. The other one I saw had the same tri-prong tip and was in better condition than this one.
There is another band gun with a very similar layout, but with plastic handle and muzzle moldings called the "Match", however there the sear box is right down the back end of the gun with the slot between the upper and lower barrel running the full length of the gun and over the top of the rear-biased grip handle.

Cool find Alex, Popgun Pete has one. I repaired one for a guy 30 years ago and only shot it once. They are made to shoot out of water, like a crossbow for fishing. One is supposed to look through the rubber eye piece at the rear to line up your target. I'll wait for Pete give more feedback.
I'll pass on this one as I like to have my head underwater.;):D

The "Scope-Arrow" speargun is a surface to water interface fishing device, it is not for use by divers. The viewing "telescope" looks through the barrel tube to sight the quarry and the rubber eye-piece is in a sense the rear butt pad, so the user does not wear a dive mask. There is an optional fitting to brace the gun on the side of the boat or you can oppose the recoil with both hands firmly on the double handgrips, otherwise you will take that impact on your eye-socket. Shoots lightweight fibreglass spear with two rubber bands. The spear gets up to speed, as do the bands, with much of their power stroke taking place in the air, so that requires less powerful bands than if the gun was completely submerged. Eggbeater-type (threadline) fishing reel retrieves the catch and you shoot straight off the reel, hence the choice of that type of reel with a flipping bail arm and the line pulling away from a drum pointing in the direction of the shot. Very nicely made and more of a curiosity than anything else unless you plan to use it in the way that it was intended (if local regulations allow that type of fishing, not all do). Many of these "Scope-Arrow" guns show little signs of any use, probably as once owners realize just what it is for the gun ends up in the storeroom. The US patent for the gun can be found on-line, company is "Suwa Tekko Sho", with detail drawings of every aspect of the gun. Not really an antique, mid-seventies from memory, and a number of them have been sold on eBay over the years.
