Thanks for the how to pics. Looks like creating a RA type float line should be pretty easy.

Good for floatline?

Thanx for the pics. Yeah, it's pretty easy.
You could make 3 100' float lines for about 15-18 bucks a piece with clip, swivel etc. Great $$$. -
How do you attach terminal gear (safely) to it?

This is a very instructive post!

I use a SS quick link. It's basically an open link with threading that closes by turning a nut. You can close it almost permanently by applying force with pliers or just leave it hand tight for quick disconnect. IMO it is the most secure connection.

So where do I order this floatline? I'm gonna try to get that 600' spool. Making a large batch of floatlines.
I see the memphis-rope page, but is that the best place?
Looking to get the foam filled line.

It's called "polyfoam" float line and made by Novabraid. The best price I found was $26 for 300' of 3/8" or $36 for 300' of 1/2" at http://www.wallacecordage.com/polyfoam_floatline.htm.
Your google skills may be better than mine. Maybe it's available cheaper somewhere else.
Edit - They had 600' spools as well, but I forgot to check the prices.

What happened to the tube?

I'm keeping the tube, but I have "friends" who know even less than I do! They'll need floatlines. Might as well buy in bulk. I wanna work on my splicing anyway. I'll probably sell any extras at cost.

When you splice be nice and let me know, I've never seen it done and would like to.

Bump for updates. Any of those that have done this, input very welcome
My gear needs revamping and this seems like a decent way to save a few$$. If done correctly seems to be as stron as any.
Thanks for any further info -
I've been through a few float lines, my past float lines have twist and tangled. I now use 5mm SKI ROPE and double splice either end, I have never looked back :):)
