I recently had a Teak White Sea Bass gun built on a different design than any of my other guns. The objective was to reduce recoil and muzzle rise. At some point in the future, I might add another hole to accommodate a fourth band.
Upon completion, I created a bulls eye target on an old swim kickboard, anchored it off shore, and took shots at it from increasing distances. I found the point of impact much easier to predict and shots at or near the center of the bull were easier to deliver than any of my other guns.
The stock is 60" x 2" x 3".
The shaft is 5/16" x 65" with a Mori sliptip.
The bands are 5/8" and of equal length.
Length of pull is 14".
Weight is 10.5#.
Finish is Dalys Teak Oil.
I am looking forward to the next time a large WSB and I are within 25 ft of each other.
PS. The gunsmith for this build was Bill Derocher. He can be contacted via EMail @ billderocher@gulftel.com or by telephone @ (251) 980-1153. I found Bill to be a patient master craftsman and this gun is a prime example of his talent.
