1st dive post Tsunami Japan spearfishing

  • A friend and I got in the water today, yesterday there was an advisory stating no water activity (not that the wife would of allowed anyways). So we got in today Sunday afternoon about 3:00 pm for a short dive. Water conditions were good, flat, and the viz was normal for this place about 25 feet. While to the eye the conditions were flat, the current was pretty strong.

All of the kids were out playing but the grown ups must have been on lockdown. A good variety of fish but they were all small, I decided to take the dive in a different direction and got a nice sized clam and a small snail. With the gun in one hand and these two in the other I called it quits after about 2 hours. My friend got a couple of pan sized fish for dinne,r and all-in-all it was nice to get in the water.
