So Cal Wet Dream

  • Just wanted to toss up my latest video, so you can see the change in porthole effect from lens to lens.

Up first is the stock GoPro lens (fisheye):

    Next is the Mako:

    And finally the Pursuit:

The first two were edited with QT Pro, and the last was with Nero Vision. I MUCH prefer the Nero product. Many more effects and video processing options.

  • Well made comparison Davis. Was the third/last video with the Pursuit flat lens cropped?

Very slightly. The program "framed" the video, so I took it off, plus some. Still much better than the Mako flat lens I'll throw up a screen grab in a few..

  • I've never used Nero vision. If you get a chance try Pinnacle studio 14. An easy to use/intuitive and feature rich program, and it will handle HD files if you make the move to the Gopro HD hero camera. Studio will never put a frame on a video unless you ask it to.

  • wow...what a cool comparison. if you dont mind guys what dd you pay for each editing program?

I believe it was 39 for the quicktime pro and Nero goes for 59.99. Luckily I got the Nero program for free from my boss' friend who is in the software industry, as well as a few other things for my computer. :thumbsup2:

The Nero is well worth the money and then some. Not only does the quality keep with the video, but it is much, much faster saving, exporting to web, etc...
