Broward Beach Conditions

  • pargo--sorry to say, but I do remember that Mr. Clean commercial:D
    Toledo970--yea, whats the problem:thumbsup2:
I edited the pic. --"Good woman wanted, send pic of boat and tub"
OK, from now on I have a better photo idea. You will see. [If I ever get another nice fish to photo].

  • pargo---thats a nice mac you got there:D
I think that the macs are one of my favorite fish to shoot and eat. Hogs are ok, but not much of a challange once you learn where and how to hunt them. The macs always get my heart pumping:thumbsup2:
[PS--wish I had SS sinks in my house:)]

  • LunkerBuster---Thanks.
I'm getting the mac hunting technique down also. I got a shorter gun [RA120] that swings faster, searching out areas where more mac are likely to be, practicing stone shot placement, etc, etc.
Down home we didn't have the number of macs as up here in Miami. Seems like that preditor slot was filled by barracudas in the Keys. So learning how to hunt macs is new to me.

Scott got there at 930am, I got there at 1030am, LunkerBuster got there at apox 230pm and fishindude and friend got there at aprox 5pm.
I got a dozen or so reef fish. No hogs and no macks.
Scott and LunkerBuster also got fish.
I went hand to hand with another nurse shark that grabbed my chum bag and wouldn't let go [again].
I called Scott over to help me, I threw him my gun so I could use both hands on the shark. One time during the fight I looked at Scott and his mask was filled with his big bug eyes as he watched me fighting the nurse shark:thumbsup2:
Scott had to swim down under me and the shark to get my gun off the reef. :0
I lost to the shark [again] and lost another $6. chum bag.
Thanks again for helpin me Scott.:toast:
    Another great yak spearin day:D

  • pargo---I have been in the Keys wrapping up some nasty business:(
Almost done down there now. Maybe 1-2 more weeks and it will be over.

Yes, the chum bag is a problem. I may have to tie it up higher on the anchor line as the nurse sharks don't seem to like to swim up off the bottom. I shoot at least 1 trigger a day off that chum bag/anchor line setup.

Saw no nice fish today, as I spent all day in shallower water.

I found a spot where the hogs were hiding and got 3 nice hogs within a 25yd circle.
I got a 30in spanish mack, a nice spade and 1 mutton and some other reef fish.
    Lost no chum bag today:D
