Its really easy. Buy a cheap slick bottom bodyboard and make sure that it is closed cell foam throughout (not Styrofoam filled). Buy a mesh game bag that is just smaller than the board and punch holes through the board from the bottom and zip tie one side of the bag down to the holes. Flip the leash plug upside down and attach a tuna clip to the bottom.
It should last 3 years of serious abuse.
Then save up for a BanksBoard!

Yeah I want a banks board REALLY BAD. but 250 is alot of money. Thanks for the tips

Sorry to hijack this with a question but:
on hover the banksboard link you get this image:Does anyone has more info on that system (I mean the spooling)?

I think its just an adjustable floatline when you determine what depth your diving at you let out the appropriate ammount of line?
-
Yep. Exactly. That is Dan's board. I don't think that is a feature offered on all the boards
I don't know what board I have but I love it

I didn't explained myself well... I see how it works and it's function. I'm curious how it's made... -
there is at least three configurations of the. banks board I'm sure its just molded into that configuration

From what I know, there's just one board. Different parts can be attached to the inserts (as this winder is).
John just posted the new model pics 2 hours ago on Facebook... -
The line spool is made out of PVC. Dan carved out "wings" on the end and the bent then out to anchor the PVC in the wellnuts
-
Lunker is correct. It's a spooling system that I made out of PVC. The PVC is painted black.

Great photos!
thanks for the info on the system!
Can't wait to get my board... -
so one more question. i have the plan in my head for my board but whats the best way to mount a 3 foot diver down flag and still without making the board unstable and turning over. should i put a 2lb weight under the boogie board? after this no more noobie questions i promise.

I've used a piece of fuel hose anchored in a hole in the board with Aquaseal. You can see it sticking up out of the board in the 3rd pic in this thread http://spearfishing.world/floa…y-beach-diving-board.html.
-
yeah I see it now. how is that rope set up? tied across the bottom and ran through the hole in the front?
-
If I remember right it ran up through the pvc spooling system, and a cleat on the top, then back down through the hole in the front.
-
ok that makes sense
