That cooler lid will hold your weight? If so, I want one....or two. I have Igloos and naturally everyone sits on them, even though I ask them not to. And they can't handle and get all bent and soft.
Nice, and great plan....size the boat to fit the cooler....:thumbsup2:

I did this exact test with my 162 Igloo marine cooler.
At that time this cooler was selling for around $350. It held ice for 4 days in my garage (Florida summer no air conditioning). I was impressed with it but also had my doubts, I mean how sophisticated can Styrofoam in a plastic shell get. Now I see that I was right, cooling wise it doesn't really matter if it has a "marine" designation or not. Going forward the factors that will make a difference for me are size and sturdiness ie can it handle someone's weight sitting on it. That's easy enough to find out at the store I can tell you the Igloo can handle sitting on, but the lid will eventually bow a little in the middle. The latches will break but are cheap online.

Doing my best, but much to go.

Your boat is looking killer Don.

Used some heat to remove the ageing merc blue cowling graphics, followed by a green pad to cut the black gloss. Found my old 3/4 mahogany ply epoxied Zodiac seat and it fits the cooler top like a glove. I will cut out 4 ply wood disks to key into the cup holder sockets.
At the end of the day I was really thirsty and grabbed a half full plastic bottle and chugged away.....Soon small bubbles were floating around the boat house.:@ as I choked and gagged the nasty burring, cheery smelling, car soap/wax from my throat, but at least now my breath is good and clean. I had mixed a 50/50 blend of cheery/wax car soap with water which I used to fit the tight floor board. Tonight I had a few beers just to clear things up a wee bit..now I'm farting pink bubbles.:D:D

Console mount begins with a access deck plate hole so I can install the 5/16 SS carriage bolts that will thru bolt the unit. All holes will be sealed with Gflex and 3M 5200. Scored a nice sitting Saddleman Harley seat at a Salvation Army. Its is light and waterproof and the closest I'll ever get to getting on a bike again.

Awesome seat. How will you connect it to the board? and the board to the cooler?

That got me wondering too

I'm waiting for the solution to come to me in a dream.:D

Fitted the 5- 5/16 bolts with 3M5200 slow cure sealed heads using a long nose vice grip to extend my reach through the deck cap hole. once installed the bolts were seated using large flat washers and nuts. Later the bolts hole gaps were filled with Gflex epoxy along with the deck hole and left to cure for a week before I set and bolt in the console. Somehow all this was carried out without making the boat look like a spotted rabbit.:D

Mock up a foot of scrap hose to see if all my cables and hoses fit inside a 1-7/8 space...now to decide on a wire duct.

I gave Thumper to my son Dillon for a buck to use as he see's fit. ...Yeah me back is flecked again and I've self medicated with some good whiskey...heat pack ..and ice. Wish I had a fine Cuban cigar in my mouth..sitting with the sun at my back on a warm island ...tanned brown skin, with the sent on coconut oil walks by... lighting it with a wooden storm match. Oh I wish I could write, drink and box like Papa.Back to it in a couple days.

Don,
I've put together a few recommended modifications for the upcoming holiday boat parades. The mods would also be good for rolling up to the local cluster **** kelp bed for WSB or just enjoying a beverage while anchored up at your favorite MPA... -
Found a dirt cheap 10.5 13p Vengeance Stainless prop with perfect hub. Installed the port and starboard trim tap fittings. More glue is on the way so I can wrap up the speedtube cones before it gets too cool.
Cheers, Don

I should have the the zodiac glue by Fri but rain is predicted for the weekend.:rolleyes1:Removed the motor lower cowlings and motor mount covers to clean and torque bolts. Bits will be powder coated before refit. Found 2 composite/canvas covered line caddys, strapped them in a spot out of the way for now. Started sealing wiring plugs with black silicon rescue tape. Night air is getting cool. A big ass German Shep/Wolf stopped by for a look at the boat. His name is Shadow and is the biggest Shepard I have ever seen.
Cheers, Don
PS sorry about the flipped pix. They are OK on my browser but get sideways when I post.
