FNG here... I live in San Diego and mostly dive in Mendocino / Ft. Bragg. My dad got me into the sport of spearfishing/ab diving back in 1990. I have a lot of experience, but I've realized lately that the knowledge/techniques that was handed down to him (and subsequently to me) worked for diving in 10-15' of water..for 7"abs. He and his friends were SCUBA divers before they were freedivers. All my gear up until recent was SCUBA (closed cell wetsuit, short fins, nylon weight belt, large volume mask, etc). I recently updated my gear and registered for a Level 1 freediving course.
I'm looking forward to gaining more knowledge, tips, techniques, and safety info via this site as well as the course.
