That normal when line release is not moving

  • Since i am no speargun expert or never shoot any brand of speargun. So i can't tell diff from sgun. My first build speargun shoot without no problem.
My problem is line release not moving when without pull band on but release easily with pull band on. Is that normal or not?

  • The mechs I've used release the lever and allow it to move forward when the trigger is pulled, but have no way to actually move the lever. The tension on the shooting line does that, so if there's nothing to move the lever forward it just stays there when the trigger is pulled. If you push on the lever with your finger and the lever moves when you pull the trigger, the mech is working properly, at least with the mechs I've had experience with.

Don't have camera to pic my speargun.
Am using alex mech in my sgun. And is working good. I warp shooting line tight that what cause line release not moving. So having band loaded will help line release go.

  • The problem is when line release has presure on it from the shooting line alone and you pull the trigger, nothing happins.

With out the gun being loaded it cannot release the shaft if there is presure on the line release.

  • Do you speak spanish or is english your mother language? Don't intend to be a jerk, but sometimes the idea is lost with translations...

English is my only language. I just am not very good with explain this.

I understand you mate. If you pull the shaft with your hand, does the line than release?
If it does, all is well. Like others have said, the line release is holding the un-dropped sear.
