First testing day... My first point nose grouper (Mycteroperca fusca)
Unfortunately, there's no footage as the camera battery was long gone... more then 6h session
Gopro C4 speargun mount prototype

Very nice work on the mount and fish.:thumbsup2:
Could you create a small video to show how your camera placement does not impede the loading process? Don't' completely load the gun of course. I would just like to visualize how the "tucked in" placement is better than a little more offset from the centerline when pulling your bands back.

Ok, I'll try...Update: I'll make a vid of the assembly, mounting and loading when the new version arrives...

I already found a (very unlikely to happen) way to break these and am now working on a new version. If anyone wants to try these I have a few that I can send for 8€ (just to cover shipping and part of the material). thanks

Good fish!

This is V3 of the mount for C4 spearguns and Gopro quick release
Already sent to print... should arrive in a week.
Much more reinforced; screws will be sunk in; more the double the material used. Mass ~15g and a little positive with a density of ~0.93g/cm^3 (mount alone floats). -
New mount arrived and it's solid, really solid! I think this is the final version...
You can compare in the pics with the previous... it used more then double the material since it's much more reinforced. -
Whoa!! Nice improvements.
That is a lot beefier. Looks great

thanks

Buena idea y simplemente eficaz

thanks.
First session with the new mount went well...

As promised here's some footage that shows the mount in action (not a very polished editing...)
You can see how it looks on the gun;
mounting and releasing it;
loading;
some action footage;
releasing it during filming so i wouldn't have the gun in frame (done at surface and depth)
Hope it gives a clear idea... let me know

Marginatus,
That was a great video. It’s exactly what I wanted to see. Thank you. :thumbsup2:
I wonder why so many mounts are created so that the camera is further from the gun? :confused1: I built my mount that way also and I’m considering redoing it after seeing your video. The POV angle on your looks so much better!
I noticed the recoil of your gun pushed your camera forward a very small amount @1:18
Do you do anything special to reduce this from happening? I've tightened mine so much I'm afraid to break it and even still the recoil moves my camera forward when I fire it.Thanks again and great job on the mount.:notworthy3:

Hi, yes, I think the screw was a a little loose... I have footage of it on the Urukay 120 with 3 16mm bands at 380% and it was fine (or maybe the Urukay has less recoil :))To prevent this you could use this: Recoil Keeper for GoPro
or for some really hardcore action: something like this: DeepBlue - GoPro - Accessori - Filippo BertocciI'm considering using shapelock (with some plastic wrap in between so it doesn't stick to the case and mount) to make something like the second solution... This would get the camera fixed at one angle but that's just what i want
Can you show your mount... always open to some ideas... (I'm doing one for airguns , as we speak, that I might adapt for pipe guns)

I used a piece of ¼ inch white acrylic I had left over from mounting a stereo on my boat. I cut out the shape and heated it with a propane torch to mold it around a 2 inch pipe (very similar in size to the air chamber in this pneumatic). I then wrapped 3m rubber tape (Part# 2242) around the gun at the contact points where I put the SS hose clamps. I used the flat base GoPro mount and its holding well. Simple and crude with lots of room for improvements. :laughing:

I used duct tape. One small strip on either side of the center line.
I find that the quick release mounts are inherently a little wobbly -

Hummm air gun...

Did you noticed I mentioned that in my last post?
You might like this (check pics)To remove "wobblyness" it's better to have less parts and a tight fit.. the safety plug can help too.
I like it a lot:thumbsup2:
There two things however that I would like in a mount (not a must but would be nice in my opinion) but I don't know if it's possible:
1. An easy way to remove the mount. No tools and with gloves on.
2. A mount that would have little to no blocking of the view while aiming. I don't see well even with contacts on so I need all the help I can get.
