Mike Tampa Bay

  • Hello forum,
my name is Mike, I just moved to Tampa Bay from Fort Lauderdale. I do most of my spearfishing on FL west coast, South East (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach), and the Keys. I'm fairly new to the level of spearfishing you guys do in Florida, I have done most of mine back in Lithuania's (eastern Europe) fresh water shallow lakes spearing eel, perch and musky.
I love the sport, but still working on my freediving skills. At the time of this post i feel comfortable going down to 25-35 feet and improving daily.
I have joined this forum to learn more about the sport and gather some local knowledge.
I am very interested to meet people in my area to spearfish together. I have all my own gear, a small boat (good for 2-3 people), kayak, time, funds and will to spearfish. I have been turned down before by other spearo's because I cant dive as deep as they can, so if anyone is new and only do shallow - no problem, let's do shallow, and if 25-35 ft put a smile on your face, hit me up, I will do my best to follow you into the deep. I speak Lithuanian, English, Russian and a little bit of Polish. Open for all options. Send me a message and lets get going.
You must be: safe, sane, sober, have your own gear (or willing to get it), responsible, reliable and absolutely no poaching ever.

I am looking for a dive buddy and spearfishing friends in Tampa Bay area. I have all my own gear. Text me to the number on my avatar picture.

  • Welcome Mike :toast:
Enjoy your new area, depth is not a necessary component to bringing home dinner and having fun.
Diving with the wrong deep diving friend or buddy can put your life at risk. If you at some point find yourself far out of your comfort zone, proceed to deeper areas very slowly over time. Mother Ocean and her great rewards will always be there....at your pace. That includes long breath holds.

    All the best, Don

  • If you are ever in Antigua, hit me up I will take you out, I like your spirit [emoji106]. Diving and shooting well trumps depth any day bro.
