My interpretation of a Riffe Padauk 2S (Riffe Padauk 2S Rebuild)

One of my best friend's Riffe Padauk 2S had a damaged stock (no fault of Riffe, just an accident). So instead of just buying a new one or repairing i decided to give it a try and build him a new gun with the old components. At least my version of the 2S with some of my personal taste. Over all i'm really happy how it turned out , especially for a rather quick build. It ended up being a 100cm gun with a three piece laminate , two teak and one mahogany as well as a purple heart trigger block/ reel block. Here are some pics of the build.

Yeah..dealing with the Riffe components was a real pain but i had deadlines with work so a side project like this needed to be done quickly. Minus the lamination, the actual building of the gun took a day and a half. But it was a lot of work....I made the reel block a little large for weight and strength of the overall gun , plus i'm not sure what reel he's buying, can always mill it down if needed in the future but i want to test it in the water first.

He asked me to sign it...May do it differently on future builds but not sure.

Thats his gun but i have used it a couple times and it works pretty well, so much so i bought the same type of shaft for my build. The wire tabs are pretty smooth and don't cut the wishbones and it makes attaching your shooting line really easy .

Thanks Pete...yep, that handle was a lot of work to fit, used a 3/8 round over bur to get close then hand fitted with a file...a lot of elbow grease.

Hey, Marco. thanks....This is the only photo i have of it loaded, i just used some old bands i had to see how they lay (pretty good actually) But my friend has his new bands to install so i'll get a proper photo then.
