This product is not new, I saw this in a industrial trade show in Texas around 1995. Maybe same brand or a different one, I can't remember.

That thick skull of yours probably put a dent on the asphalt!:D Glad you're okay man.

Welcome to the forum! Do you think or is there more fish in your country as a consequence of spearfishing being prohibited??
-
Adrian, where in the island will you be staying?? I'm going to Fl for the BW but should be back by then and maybe we could do a shore dive or something. I got a lot of work to do when I get back but could probably squeeze a day or two.

These are a real nice pair of guns, excellent work!:thumbsup2:

Awesome catch guys! So close to world record. Did you use a certified scale? Sometimes scales are off by a few pounds. You'd be surprised! Also you want to keep posible record or tournament fish in a seawater ice brine on the way to shore so they don't lose weight before weight in on land.

I use them on my trolling lures because of possible chafing from the swivel but not on my shooting line since it will probably kink before wearing at the connection. There's also nylon thimbles that you could use or that plastic sleeve some people are starting to use. If it works for you.......:)

I have a couple of dexter's but my favorite for filleting fish is one old Rapala with the wood handle. They come in three sizes and I have them all but use the larger one more.

Nice catch!

What are you making?

Why not use black abs pipe, it comes in the same dia. as pvc and it is black already. There is primer for pvc to use before painting, but I don't know the brand.

I don't know about mixing epoxy with other chemicals other than xylene but I did too read about it and did my own experiment. I did a test sample using west 105 straight and diluted with xylene and also another test sample with the epoxy that I use for finishing my guns also straight and diluted. I found that there's is no difference in hardness or durability (one such coated gun is 14 years old). Also the guns coated with epoxy/xylene the finish is easier to apply, uses less epoxy and is easier to obtain that smooth as glass finish on the gun. About the dust problem, you might have a little static on your blank (maybe from rubbing it with a rag when cleaning or walking over carpeting on the way to the bathroom?) It might sound silly but try grounding your blank or wiping it down with an anti-static rag. Also if you could borrow an air purifier and let it run in the bathroom to clean the air before and during the epoxy aplication.
