I caught a king fish once, maybe 35lbs that had obviously been hooked before... one of his gills had been ripped out from him and pulled around the outside of his gill plate... could tell it was an old wound, but he was as healthy as ever... just sorry I never took any pics. Always believed that once a fish had its gills damaged, especially as bad as this king did, that there was no chance off survival, but that fish proved otherwise. Also know a guy that shot a massive jewfish here in Trinidad, that had 5 broken spears in him and was just fine until he met the right hunter, or in his case the wrong one.

That happened to someone I know recently. I've been using 40 # mono fishing line to tie my bands for over 20 years, and have had no problems. I used to use the metal or plastic rings for years prior to the mono, but they were a pain in the ass to get on.

disagee completely with Dan, humans are the biggest enemy, maybe that's where eradication should start.

came across one that was at least 14 feet scuba diving with a buddy in the channel between Venezuela and Trinidad a couple years ago, it circled us at least 8-10 times varying his distance each time, the closest was about 2-3 feet, the furthest about 20, the viz was only about 15 feet, so when he went into the murk, all you could see was the silhouette... was an awesome experience, and a privilege to be so close to such an incredible animal.

cant argue with that... guess i'm old skool,

no problem man. Cuba looks like a great destination to dive, looking forward to hearing your report.

beautiful looking gun. agree about the muzzle, altho i'm not sure what it is you dont like about it, what i dont like is that the rubbers have to be assembled on the gun, thats about it really.

can totally relate to that sick feeling caused by a lack of diving as well. Petar i am from the Caribbean, and live either in Trinidad, or the small Grenadine island of Bequia, but now its mostly Trinidad, you are welcome to come down and dive with me and my buddies any time man, you dont need any permit here, you just cant bring your own gun, but getting a gun to use is no problem.

i had to look at this video again, i find it fascinating, especially with that music. this guy is unbelievable.
@ Ramon, what sort of training does he do?
-
nice! great music again, who was that? is that the andre euro you were telling me about?
-
you're right khalel, but they're also called kings in places like lebanon and quatar. the sharp dip in their lateral lines resembles that of the atlantic king.
-
nice, but that looks like a king.

"Now I would probably maybe perhaps have liked the vid if it were not of you breaking my bloody Mutton record in St Vincent!!! hahahahaahahahah"
any more records i should know about so that i can shatter them when jay and my euro get up here next week.. hehehe
