Yeah West Marine makes a great little bag for the iPhone which lets you still use the phone while in the bag.

I have taken it out just tied to my float.

I think the big deciding factor could be how good is the reception while you're lets say on the 3rd reef around your dive locations?(I have used my iPhone as out as 5miles from south point Miami beach)

My experiences of the iPhone(3GS) navigational capabilities is from driving from key West to Canada and as far west as Kansas.
The iPhone lead the way on every trip with a paper map stowed away as back-up.
Its a solid device.

My friends car was broken into from a shore dive spot in the 954 area yesterday, great high end neighborhood. Car parked on a mane street in full view.

Has anyone us seen a shark act that way for that amount of time?

I have only had them come in a few times maybe for 1minute at most.(shore diving those same waters almost)

I hate gov. workers in Miami Dade City Hall that apporve plans. They take 3 times longer then any other county around this area.

The swimming toward them is good. But the first few times I find people never do.

Scary stuff huh. The first time is the worst.

Two fish is a very small price to pay.

Just remember dropping your catch doesn't always work. Sometimes they still keep coming after you or for some reason the tip of your gun.

This will help alot. There's so much time/money wasted when you start on your own without a guide.

I saw the knife posted by Dan for $70. I think those types of knives are called "Deba".

I just use and sharpen the heck out of a chefs knife.

I like the eastern style(one in vids) of cleaning fish. It's alot easier to me then the western style of a flexiable blade.

I have heard that in Key West they spot whales every now and then.
