Nice vid, looks like a couple other studs got away that day... Did they bolt as soon as they saw you or just when you descended on them?

Just put a box fan behind you (upwind) while your working. The old guy that taught me seems to have turned out alright..... haha

Nice vid, hunting those big uluas in those holes looks fun

Been a while.since ive been on here.
Thanks Ben, if you look closely you can see him hauling ass for the nearest hole at the beginning of the vid on the first descent.

The one that's getting closed on January 1st
ha yah I had to wiggle a little to get out of there. I'm starting to get a little more adventurous in my diving.
But if you want to see some really crazy stuff, check out the Southern California master at lobster diving, Dave Plossel

Nice breath hold Dylan ! That Airb sounds like some kind of death ray when it fires, may be harmonics from the shaft/slide ring. Thanks for the cool footage. What bar is in the gun ?
Cheers, Don
Thanks Don I think then i had in on 25 bar.
QuoteCool video man. The end was a cliffhanger, what was in the hole, grouper?
Yea i shot the grouper and a few other nice grovers out of that little hole.
QuoteAwesome vid but I want to see the FISH! I really like that ledge in the first half of the video too. NIce work.

New Tomba700 for Aibalete will be shipped to Don soon. It is lighter than the old, about 3 g (cone, slider). The old was about 8 g. This would make it possible to shoot the gun on 30 bar and more (11 mm piston, 7 mm shaft). Bonding to the slider will be more secure for big fishes too, I believe. Sealing is similar to old. The problem with O-ring to be squeezed out under high force (more than 500 N) would probably remain. You should have some spare with you in case of catching big fishes. I suppose the loading of the shaft would be more smooth. That are the news.
I belive my kit is very similiar. Are you saying the new slider cone is 3g lighter than the picture that says devoto on it? My slider is coned shaped like the pictures above. Is that slider that says devoto one you made? Could it be used in place of the cone for bettrr line attachment?

There is a new Tomba super light wt slider being shiped to me soon, along with a improved seal.
What slider were you using ?
Yes I saw that in the vid as well, but I couldn't tell if the line was coming from the target hole making the shaft tail look like a slider. The gun in the vid was a prototype, I'll look at it again.
Cheers, Don
I was using the plastic bullet shaped slider where you had to tie nylon then you can attach the mono to it. This is not strong enough for grouper/large fish. Also, when there is a lot of pressure the o-ring between the slider and the metal peice that centers the shaft in the muzzle gets squeezed out. What new slider/sealing system are you getting from him? Maybe I will send him an e-mail.
-
In the begining of the vid I looks like the line attaches to the shaft, then when shot it shows it has a slider. Very interested to see what the slider components are made out of if it is a dry barrel. I love shooting my airbalete dry barrel but I have changed it back due to the slider components not being strong/tpugh enough for the fish I shoot.
-
So this gun is dry barrel from the factory? Is it going to be free shaft, nono attached behind flopper, or is there a slider? Gun looks great I hear about this a while back, nice to finally see it.

what an idiot!

I thought the new rules said no diving within 300' of shore/bridges/piers.
Maybe someone can clarify.
Heard about that new shore rule as well.

Good luck charms...... Lol its my loader with a key float, so if I drop it while loading or get my hands full I can just let it float next to me at the surface until I clip it back on my D-ring.

Thanks Dylan. I have some Ti scrap and delrin laying around, along with a drawer full of old old strobe arms.
Cheers, Don
There ya go! Good luck
