what type of mackeral looks like a king but has deep blue along its back and kind of fades to silver along the body. Its not a cero and not a spanish i dont believe. i've seen them in several members pics and over the reef as well.

I thin you saw a juvinile King Mack...the other 2 types are cero and spanish macks. check this site... hope that helps:)

i think you are right thanks, i know its not a spani or a cero, so this looks like it. I had always assumed kings were silver and bulkier through their entire llife, but the ppics of juveniles look ike what ive seen

From my experience, a juvenile Spanish and King look the same at first glance except the King has darker spots that disappear with maturity, the Spanish has gold spots that get brighter as they mature. The King also has a more round body.
